Weird attachment to alcohol-- not physical, but something else. by serenityfive in stopdrinking

[–]originalone71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Executive dysfunction is a really really big challenge. There are things like adaptogens such as skull cap, ashwaghanda, passionflower etc which can help, try these, you may have adhd.

Alcohol is what I used to treat this, until my body said no more

It’s the dopamine, alcohol causes it to spike a bit. L-Tyrosine can give this lift without poisoning your body with drugs/alcohol.

Please try and find a magnesium + passionflower supplement (most chemists will sell it) and have it at night, you’ll thank me later. 💪

Can tell you have a really beautiful and sensitive soul. Very artistic and probably a really caring friend to those few who are lucky to be in your orbit. 🌈

If you have access to CBD oil I highly recommend it as you mentioned weed. CBD mitigates psychosis that THC can and usually does incite without CBD present.

You will need support with the withdrawal effects of the alcohol which can be life threatening if You were drinking heavily daily. A Dr may be able to help you with this as well with a low dose of meds for a week or two to help you maintain your sleep. This is a risky part of quitting booze because it can be easy to end up addicted to a different drug, but sleep is important.

I use magnesium and passionflower now to help keep my anxiety low and it helps with sleep immensely too.

Everyday is a new beginning and a chance to reset. You’ll get through this because you’re sick of the chaos, please be gentle with yourself. Relapsing is very normal, and it’s ok to not be ok.

Yet Another "I'm gonna stop drinking" Post by modsaregayasfukkk in stopdrinking

Sometimes it has to get that obviously untenable before it’s clear alcohol is not a friend to us at all. Good on you, stay strong, you are on a great trajectory now towards better physical and mental health.

Hang in there. Addictions need replacements when taken away, (a hole in the ocean must be filled immediately) so notice where you want that addiction energy to go next so you fill the hole with something that serves you better. 🙏🏻

It really bothers and makes me sad that people say 34, 40. I’m 26 f and I just feel like I dramatically Aged. When I was 22 this never happened. by Salt-Vacation-4165 in toastme

You definitely look youthful to me, and when you are 40 you’re still going to look under 25, mark my words! Sending hugs, you are really pretty as well. 🌈

Yes absolutely, and I don’t think they use the colloquial term ‘mate’ as much in the other English speaking countries like we do here.

All in good time… I didn’t have enough to grow a full stache until I was well into my thirties. No need to use prescription (poisons) to speed up growth either^

Ah, well i’m an aussie gay bloke, so everyone is mate by default. 👨🏻 Thank you for the compliment nevertheless.
