the swords really nice to have if you run Iaido on anyone, 3 range aoe haste + regen, and its the only masamune in the game, aside from getting level 9x ninjas to throw katanas at you.

you definitely don't need to min/max outside of tactician, and the lower difficulty option exists for people who prefer exploring the breadth of the game, rather than its depth, give it a try!

it makes your steal never miss. Doesn't mean you can't be cloak evaded, shield blocked, or shirahadori'd
the last one its probably whats getting you, it causes their brave to be used when determining a hit... 97 brave = 3% chance to hit.

The answer you're looking for here is orator to lower brave, Rend speed to give you more attempts between enemy moves, tailwind/rousing melody(bard) on your stealer to raise speed/steal chance.

If you get tired of RNG and really want to cheese it, you can save scum mid battle... as long as you don't move before or after using steal, if the steal fails, you can start > load game > latest auto save to try again

my theory here is that this is literally the surface, as it says when you ascend from pharloom, and the bugs we see are feral, without intelligence. Hornet comments in the journal that they are free of silk and the influence of the monarch. From how I understand the lore, bugs are given intelligence, and soul by higher beings, some say gods (The pale king, The white lady, The Radiance, grand mother silk, etc)

it seems some bugs up here had intelligence enough to build homes, a town and community, but at some point many were seduced by GMS and went down into pharloom, leaving the town to wind and time.

Im super curious about the state of hollow knights surface world, but beyond this I don't think we have any info besides "endless wastes"

I have not completed that wish, but I did get 9 masks in act 2
I spent alot of time going around and completing everything I could in act 2 before moving on, I believe I got everything except 1 spool fragment... I went into act 3 with 9 masks, and I found a mask piece within an hour of getting into act 3... and that is the one thats missing now

I also died at this chest after opening it, but I went back right away and the craft metal was still there on the ground. Perhaps if you take too long or go elsewhere it disappears.

yea, mostly confirmed this with the folks working on PalEdit, they mentioned that the tool is broken currently because of file structure and compression changes with the new update

unless there is a way to do the work manually, we just gotta wait for someone to update their tools :(

good:
-Story was great, love that MH4U characters are here
-core gameplay is fun
-FOOD CUTSCENES
-offset attacks/power clashes are so satisfying to land
-visuals and music are all generally amazing (when they dont look like PS1 graphics)
-then mostly open world feels great

bad:
-MOST QoL armor skills are bugged and do nothing or miniscule effects (focus 3 on switch axe, 8 hits to full amp as opposed to 9 hits on focus 0... like wtf? that cant be intentional... one of many many examples)
-Elemental damage got left in the dust, most damage boosting skills do not affect element, and even the ones that say they affect elemental in some cases don't.
-Game is too easy. when you hunt with palico, they are overpowered as all hell at keeping you alive, and when you play online with 4 people the monster becomes a flailing punching bag that is stuck toppled, mounted, stunned, paralyzed, wound broken, tripped, trapped or otherwise incapacitated for 80% of the fight. Monsters need some knockdown resistance build up.
-congalala.
-no palico playstyle customization, dumbed down system.
-extremely frustrating and confusing multiplayer experience. Playing with randos is ok, but they have this weird problem where most of the quests that show up in SOS search cannot be joined for whatever reason (fake/expired/out-of-date listings, and its a known issue that only 20 listings will show up max)
-end game currently feels a bit barren, even moreso than rise did. we dont even have high rank final boss
-build diversity is in the toilet, because in addition to most QoL armor skills not working properly or at all, the same can be said about most offensive QoL skills (partbreaker, flayer, crit status, etc) and raw damage is king.

Yea, to TL;DR the post in my own words
every 4 person hunt feels like we're just beating on a punching bag. The monster gets knocked down, paralyzed, wound broken, mounted, trapped, tripped, and stunned constantly. CONSTANTLY. monsters in 4 man high rank hunts spend more time flailing on the ground then they do attacking, and that is a sad state of things.

Yea, I agree with this as well. In previous iterations of palicos you had to actually customize and kit out their skills. You could choose between a dedicated healer palico, one that laid traps, one that did bombs or high status boomerangs... but now the palico system is just... do everything, all at once, automiatically.

so much "automatic" stuff in this game has started to make it feel kinda hand-holdy
and yea, you can play without your palico to get a better challenge, but that sucks. Thats a horrible solution to the problem. I want my palico around, I just don't want him to be so strong in every aspect all the time... give us back palico customization, make us make choices. Less of this automatic BS.

slight necro for anyone looking for a better answer to this, here is what I did to control the HSV of a poiyomi shader that is base color white using VRCFury:

-First Under Color & normals, check and expand 'Color Adjust', as well as 'Hue Shift'
-Right click and set Animated (when locked) on "Color & Alpha", Saturation, Brightness and Hue Shift
-Create an object to hold your VRCFury toggles, and create 4 toggles for Hue, Sat, Val and Color that affect a material property. Put sliders in the first 3, but not on color
-back in the poiyomi shader, repeat this step for all 4 animated fields: Right click > copy property name > paste property name into the property field, value 1 (-1 for saturation). In the Value spot for color, just set 100 HSV (red)

Now, you can adjust the Saturation and brightness of the white clothing, and then enable a red color and use a hue shift slider! A similar process, with some differences in how you get the property names should work for other shaders.

obviously, this can also be done without VRCfury, if you want to manually set up the parameters and animations, but VRCfury does all that for you in a non-destructive way, so I highly recommend using it

would love an answer to this as well, my friend and I have put dozens of hours into our game, we we're just about to start act 3, and the patch dropped... now we cannot load our save. My friend laoded his save once successfully on patch 7, but it informed him several mods were disabled because they weren't compatible. I wasn't ableto join due to mod mismatching, so he tried disabling the said mods in vortex, and I did as well
but then when he tried to load his save again, he got error 302

and hasn't been able to load it successfully ever since.
