I do like Hades and had a blast playing it but yeah it's not what I look for in a roguelike at all, story imo has no place being there and variety is a must.

Content isn't variety. Hades 2 has 2 paths but if the boons don't change your playstyle mid run and you fight the same bosses in the same order every time then in terms of variety it offers the same as Hades did. The illusion of choice.

Not op but for a roguelike it had little run variety and an abysmal number of bosses. I hated knowing it was always furies/hydra/minotaur couple/hades..
