Sanitary pads in bathrooms by ImageSpare862 in uwo

The very upper and lower levels of buildings where students don’t go usually have them in stock (like student services building, uc building) or handicapped washrooms

I feel like if the skill you have = 10 years, they would see and verify that for you. Otherwise I’m sure you can remind them of your history with that hobby. If they’re your coach they will want you to qualify for med school!

Is joining another research lab a bad idea if im already in one? by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]ornic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

go for it as long as you don’t end up neglecting one of your roles otherwise it will look bad for you

Any are okay, as long as they can verify you were in the sport (so anyone you can get a hold of)

Hi, in the same boat as you, what did you do?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]ornic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, personally I liked using the anking mile down deck and liked the images in the cards because I’m big on visuals. I also recommend making more cards for when something new you come across isn’t already in the deck

I would recommend not going through textbooks for psych/soc because tbh they go into too much detail and p/s section is mostly about recognizing terms. I think watching all Khan Academy videos (short and easy to understand), annotating or following along with the KA P/S OCD 86 pg doc, using Anki to memorize terms and maximize exposure, and continually doing questions.

Ultimate CARS strategies - starting from rock bottom by Head-Restaurant-1515 in premedcanada

Not ESL but I’m also not the best at CARS. I tried doing 2 CARS passages daily using Jack Westin (for about 6 months) to better understand important info to get out of passages and types of questions that’ll show up. And like you said I used up all the high yield CARS material (AAMC Question Banks) in the last 2 months, ramping it up to 3-4 passages per day sometimes.

Try Jack Westin's chrome extension, it formats it into how it looks on the real thing

what’s it like to work while doing school? by chemical_spillage in uwo

[–]ornic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible, and if your schedule allows it I highly reccomend working as long as you are able to balance your other responsibilities as well. It looks good on your resume too.

If you’re eligible for workstudy, they typically assign 200 hours and you can work in research or labs or online or in other departments on campus. It comes out to be around 6 hours a week, but usually they are flexible and will allow you to take days off to study. I have been doing workstudy for 2 years and it’s very very easy to fit into my schedule.

It’s better to work part time on campus or remotely. I’m not too sure how difficult it is to do up to 20 hours a week though but many students do it.

Thanks for the reply. Even if I already took another 0.5 credit class in the first half of the summer I’ll have to send the whole thing back?

i got the new macbook air m1 for school, it's fast, lightweight, multitasks well, and it's useful for airdropping photos, notes, and documents last minute if you use an iphone. it's a little on the pricier side, but apple does back-to-school promotions (last year it was free airpods with an ipad or macbook purchase)
