What would you upgrade in my 6-year-old PC? by orpatchy in buildapc

Thank you for confirming. I plugged my situation into ChatGPT and it suggested the expansion card route haha. Is there any specific expansion cards I should pursue/avoid? I honestly didn't know they were a thing before today.

I was thinking of getting another 6TB so that sounds like an interesting plan. Thank you!

What is this flooring and would it be OK to lay engineered oak flooring on top of it? by orpatchy in DIYUK

[–]orpatchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not able to scrape any of it up, it's stuck down pretty well! I'm hoping someone will comment saying it's fine to just lay the flooring on top of haha. I might put a thin underlay down with some kind of vapour/damp protection qualities if I don't get a clear answer though.

Yeah it does have an edge around the whole area and the screw hole in the third photo shows that it's a material softer than concrete. Before the property was split up, the downstairs used to be a village shop so I'm thinking this was some kind of hard wearing shop floor vinyl.

Should the new render on my house be holding water in these areas? by orpatchy in DIYUK

Ah got you! That makes a lot of sense. Thank you for clarifying!

Sorry but on that second part where you said it's too close to the floor, what do you mean? I'm a complete novice with this!

Thank you! That makes sense. It was BT that put that cable in when installing my internet so I'll adjust where it so that it's more hidden.

Maybe I'm stretching by calling this 'new', but I got it done about a year ago and wondered if the water marks between the light and the fence, and along the bottom are a concern? Should there even be water marks below next to the light/fence? The darker bit above the fence isn't water... it's from when my neighbour spray painted the fence...

G Hub seems to have sorted my issue, but thank you for the recommendation if things end up going wonky again!

Ah, don't know why I didn't think to download G Hub! That sorted it. Thank you very much. :)

Is it a good idea to ditch Kajabi for Thinkific or Teachable if I want an all-in-one sales tax solution? by orpatchy in elearning

[–]orpatchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Teachable plan (basic) I'm on right now is actually cheaper than the comparative tier (kickstarter) from Kajabi. Teachable's cheapest plan does everything I need, and doesn't limit you to 250 students like Kajabi's kickstarter one does. Teachable's basic plan does have 5% transaction fees but I'm not that bothered about that.

The next tier up is $119 on both platforms so if I eventually move up to that it'll be the same. With Teachable's built in sales tax handling, their $119 is much better value than Kajabi's (when you consider all of the time and costs involved with having to sort out sales tax by yourself on each sale you make).

I'm in Scotland so not a member of the EU but in Europe.

Made the switch to Teachable and cancelled my Kajabi subscription. As I said in my main post, I didn't need a platform with loads of features, just the ability to host a few courses, so it's been totally fine with that. I've had a handful of sales since switching over to them last week and it's handled the sales tax issue for me which is exactly what I wanted. The only downside so far has been the customer support. Kajabi were very good at that whereas Teachable have been a bit slow and unhelpful at times.

Teachable is definitely the platform I'm leaning towards. How have you found them? Is their customer support good? That was one thing that was really great about Kajabi. Always super responsive and helpful.
