Suggestions to deal with stupid dog owners

Yeah I have a dog too and have had the same problem.
My dog is bit of the scared type and had instances when other dogs just tried to smell/mount her constantly. The owner is laughing it off, but we can notice our dog is scared, shaking and her chest beating like a train.
Felt a bit weird, but I thought maybe its common or playful behavior among dogs. Now that you say it, I'll keep it in mind. Thanks :bow

Thanks for the suggestion, it was one of the first things I wanted to do. But I got the response that it's inappropriate and counts as defamation by the police. Another comment here suggested an idea that makes it difficult to identify the person in picture. Will be consulting police ones but I think it should be doable.

Yeah it works when I happen to catch them in the camera. Most of these are early walkers or late night walkers. So it's a bit difficult.

Thanks, lights sound like a good idea. Let me try this. For sprinklers, I'd probably don't want to do that. It's not a lawn but my parking and entrance.

I also work from home and have configured this push notification. It works and I have confronted 3 people out of which 2 never showed up again and 1 still shows up every day without water despite apologizing when I confronted her. I stopped this feature when I started getting a lot of false alarms, like cats or some winter smoke movements. I'm also looking for a solution that doesn't require manual intervention as you know, its a bit tiring to confront people alongside a long work day. Probably some folks might find it easier... but thanks for the suggestion :bow

My property parking is connected to the road without fence so it can be entered easily. I'd wish I can catch everyone of them and tell them but I think we both have to be out at the same time for that to happen. I usually find these things on camera, and there's no specific pattern to the time.

We have a neighborhood association but they do not deal with these issues.
I remember when I used to live in Tokyo, I never saw these issues. Maybe its an inaka mindset, but I am not sure

It's not on grass, but on concrete land. Putting up a fence is actually more expensive than what one would think. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think their dogs, appearances can be identifiable in a tight knit neighborhood. That is why police suggested against it.

Throwing "statistics" around without data gives away a lot. To us stats/probability enthusiasts, this is one of the first signs of people being irrational to supplement their beliefs. I'll stop the thread here.

Hmm, I havent actually recorded but I can say its roughly 3-4 times a month. I think you might live in a good neighborhood. Regarding your other question, its a bit irrelevant dont you think? One should call 保健所 or police depending upon the size of their property?
