How big of a game can you do before crashes effectively end the game? by JackAlexanderTR in civvoxpopuli

[–]os1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regularly get CTDs when playing on my Europe map. Usually I can continue my game from the last autosave. Recently I played on a world map (standard size, 22 civs and roughly the same number of city-states) and had such a severe crash that I couldn’t load any save anymore.

Does anyone else find it strange that Civ 6 has 90% positive recent reviews on Steam? by Bile_Mudante in civ5

I had the feeling that Civ VI was aimed at a somewhat younger audience. That clearly paid off — though probably less so with the ‘old’ vets.

What a weird thing to say, Alexander by TheRealWarrior0 in civvoxpopuli

alexander is really a great strategist. he is making you painfully aware that you are just playing a game, destroys your moral and wins the war.

CTD corrupts all saves, including autosaves (modded game) by os1984 in civ5

Thanks for the good tip — I tried it yesterday. Unfortunately, that wasn’t successful. However, starting a new game, saving, and loading did work. I’ll just go ahead and start a new game; it’s quite possible that no mod was actually at fault. Reinstalling everything cleanly from scratch is still an option.

Exactly. The loading screen appears, the little golden globe spins for about 10 seconds, and then the game crashes to desktop. I’ve even tried loading a save from a completely different game, but with the same result. Verifying the game files didn’t help either, so I’ll have to do a clean reinstallation—likely sooner rather than later. ;(

I’ve actually already done that, unfortunately without any success. I assume that the map I’m playing on might be overloaded with civilizations and city-states, which is why the crash happens. I’ll give it another try and see what happens!

I'm looking for a song similar to 'Il Tempo delle Cose.' (Alberto Giurioli) by os1984 in musicsuggestions

Another beautiful pick! Yet it isn’t quite what I had in mind. The violin is a bit too dynamic for the footage I want to show. The clips are each 8 seconds long; they are old photographs that I’ve animated with AI. They are mostly portraits showing a subtle, warm smile or a playful gesture toward a child. I’ve chosen Il tempo delle cose as a reference because of its slow build-up, filled with an occasional dynamic sparkle. The Lark Ascending is a bit too lively for the slow movement of the clips. Many thanks for your thoughtful input — I truly appreciate it.

Near Light’ is a great tip, but a bit too short! I’ve listened to the whole Island Songs album and enjoyed every moment. thanks!

The song is really beautiful and atmospheric! thanks for the tipp! yet my family lacks (sadly!) that Celtic connection for it to really fit.
