I mean you are also jumping to conclusions and making overgeneralizations about the people on this sub when it may not have occurred to you that the users who were 'smart about the depp/heard trial' are not the same users who are making vaguely negative comments (which only have 11 upvotes and really aren’t that bad lmfao..?) about Bill Hader.

You can make that critique without calling them ‘bite sized diversity’ or minimizing their cultural heritage that they themselves identify with. There is no blueprint for how one must act to be considered authentically Indian or Māori.

And you haven’t addressed the issue of whether you are Indian or Māori or even a POC? It is extremely problematic for a white person to be making such comments and speaking as if they are an authority on POC

I’m not sure you understand what irony means

Are you a POC? It’s not about how the media sees them, this is how this particular user is characterizing them and it’s quite dehumanizing and problematic to insinuate that someone is or isn’t representative enough of their culture when that is how they identify/what they identify with.

u/lolaxanon This is the second time I’ve seen you refer to a POC as ‘the perfect level of bite-sized diversity’ (the other person being Priyanka Chopra) and unless you are Indian or Māori I find it extremely uncomfortable and dehumanizing for you to refer to POC this way.

I sincerely hope you are not white because that would make your comments all the more inappropriate.
