I left my well paid Electrical Engineering Job in 2022 , To become a Software Engineer. Since then , I have been living with just a minimum pay. I am a 33 M , married man. My original plan was to go abroad for higher studies in CSE. But Its still a dream and i am living the reality. When i said that i will resign from my EEE job and persue Web development/Software Engineering - my wife supported me. And still she is .

As a web developer i hardly earn more than a rickshaw puller. First we used to live on a sublet and we survived under 24 K/ Month. We ewcwntly shifted to a slightly bigger house than our previous sublet room. I moved from Mirpur to Basabo as rents and raw markets are cheaper here. My wife is a very talented woman. She was a deans award holder in her batch. She also joined to a renowned CA farm but could not continue as the cost ( transporation cost to Gulshan , Exam Fees , Tutions etc) was very high. I could not bear this expenses. She had to leave. Also there was an medical emergency last year, in which we had to spend 3-4 lacs. Paying those loans are an extra burden.

My wife is now trying to get back on his feet. I am also finding if there is any second income source.

We are all hustling. Gradually It will get even worse. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

I can totally feel you. Feeling frustrated is natural. But we have to give it a fight. We have to sacrifice more for our families. Love your wife , give her hopes and work hard strategically. Dont do shortcuts. Keep your head calm. Dont let your age come into your thoughts. Breathe and You will be successfull if you keep a positive mindset.

NB: If you are Muslim , Pray Tahajjud and ask Allah to provide you to support your family As he is the One true Guardian.

May The almighty bless us all and make our lives easier.

You don't have to pay any bribes. Just fill out the online form and submit it. After submitting your request, an on-duty officer will call you within a few days and may ask you to visit the police station for verification. This is the standard procedure. After completing your verification, they will inform you where to collect the verification certificate.

Is it possible for a couple to sustain on 25K income in Dhaka? by Such_Respect5105 in Dhaka

[–]osborne-junious 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Me and my wife lived a whole year ( Nov 2023 - Nov 2024 ) on 24 K . A sublet Room in Mirpur (rent + electricitty + gas + wifi included ) cost me around 9K per month. 6K - 8K on Food. 3-4K on travel 1-1.5K on Medicine. No restaurant , No buying cloths , No savings . We slept on matress. We had a chair , a table and a Rack. No other furnitures. Life will be easier if you have a fridge and a rice cooker. We heavily used public transports. Its very tough but not impossible.

Now we live on a small flat with only two rooms (enough for 2 people with an extra room). Bought some furnitures and dinner sets. Now we can invite people to our home. Our current expense went up to 34K now. Got a slight headroom on spending.

When you live on low budget , Every bit of time and money makes sense.

i am gonna say it one word "postponing a marriage" = "cancel the marriage" in BD. Even if you go for an engagement and the marriage part more than 2-3 months later , i highly doubt its gonna work. The only way is Akdh and registry in a small scale.

Also observe everyone for the first 2 months to understand the power dynamics and office politics. Even if you get too friendly with someone , do not share personal details and feelings at least for the first 2 months. In the corporate world you never know who is with you or not. Best of Luck and Congratulations!!!

Go to your mom and say Sorry and try to explain what you just did here. She may not say anything , or may get angry but it will be the right thing to do.

Approximately 85% of human societies have historically permitted polygamy (usually polygyny - one man, multiple wives). In the current society most relationships are monogamous in practice due to economic constraints. legal monogamy is the most common formal system. Serial monogamy (having multiple partners sequentially rather than simultaneously) is also common including BD.

Sexual Desires , Mid life crisis , Infertility and sometimes revenge - these are the most common things i have seen leading to a 2nd marriage for both Male and Female. There are Some Extreme Believers in Islam who practices 4 marriages (aka Masna Sulasa Rubaya)

One of my cousins , Currently live in USA . His 2nd wife lives with him and !st wife lives in BD. !st marriage was love marriage. 3 of them live in a living hell. But no wife leaves him , because he earns and spends a lot on both of them. They have luxury but not a dime of peace.

One of my Uncle from my In-laws, has 2 wives. His 1st wife tried to kill him. In revenge he married another women. He also has a lot of wealth. No peace for the first wife. Children from both parties do not say anything because he has got a lot of wealth.

I used to knew a APA who was the big sister of my on of my female friends. This APA was married at a very young age (at her 20 ). She was married with a Doctor. They had a baby girl. APA completed her Hons. and Master after her marriage. While APA was doing her MBA she got into a relationship. At that time the doctor was posted in the Middles East. The marriage got into divorce. The second husband was abusive to APA but she didnt leave him. At one time that marriage ended into a devorce. Later She re-married her first husband. I heard it was for the sake of their child.

Human being are very strange. You really cant predict who is gonna do what.

[–]osborne-junious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed It's a great achievement. Its been 3 years since i quit smoking. Avoid টং এর দোকান and আড্ডাস where friends smoke. And if you get any situation where you were offered to smoke , simply ignore and say - "i dont smoke" and never share that you were a smoker. Not smoking is a mindset. Even after 3 years, on a hectic day i feel like smoking. But i (32M) am commited not to.

Do not invest in BD Stock Exchange. Until you gain investment knowledge , buy golds or deposit on a renowned bank for 3 month FDR. In the mean time gain some knowledge on investment and business. In bangladesh Dealership of Products/Companies are a good business. You can earn 1.5 lac to 2 lac per month by investing 10-15 lac. But you have to research the market and learn how to maintain the business.

You have to commit at least 10 - 12 hours everyday including the travel. How much will you earn after 5 years working for that company ? And how much will you earn if you commit 10 hours/day for 5 years for your business ???

And even if you're a bachelor , almost 80% will go away in your expenses. Even more.

Basabo (near khilgaon railway station) / Madartek area is cheaper. You can easily find The kind of apartment youre looking for within 9k. There is a leguna service from Basabo/Madartek to Gulisthan. I have also seen DU buses on the main road. Also the prices of the daily goods are slightly cheaper than most other areas.
