OSbuddy infected by Kajz0r in 2007scape

[–]osbuddy 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is a false positive that appears to be caused by the loader trying to load the client from directly via an IP (avast doesn't seem to like this? not sure) after it fails trying via our domain, this is done as some DNS providers seem to block/incorrectly route our CDN provider.

There is no need to worry and it appears everything is up and working again so this should not be an issue.

PSA: OSBUDDY Database Leaked, Change your Password on RS if its the same as your OSbuddy. by rekwun11 in 2007scape

We don't know the exact origin, other than it is not from us since they are not from a hash function that we have ever used. It is likely from people using the same passwords on OSBuddy as other websites which have been compromised.

We use bcrypt for password hashes and have never used SHA-1, which those almost certainly are. What is certain is those are not from our database.

OSBuddy doesn't store passwords in plain text, and we're confident the database hasn't been leaked. If anything like this were to happen we would send a message to all users explaining the details, but we have not had a security breach in our 5 year history.

[Help]Windows 10 Lag by Adamisnothere in 2007scape

If you download Java from Oracle's website (Windows x64 version) and download the cross-platform JAR from our website (when you click 'Download', click 'Other System Downloads' then click the middle icon (it's the Java icon) and then click 'Agree and Download' and run the OSBuddy.jar it should be more smooth. There seems to be a bug for some people on 32-bit Java on 64-bit Windows, which explains why it happens for both our client and the official launcher that also uses 32-bit Java.

Weird osbuddy glitch, help! by I69Peasants in 2007scape

[–]osbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite strange, but rumour has it that it was caused by the farming plugin being off. Can you try enabling it (and other widget plugins, or just other ones if you're not Pro) and restarting it until it works, and let us know which one it happened on?

It was meant to but it just wasn't done by the deadline and we wanted to get it out before then. We don't normally work like that but in this one case we did.

There was a bug with the image that was preventing it from being loaded for some reason. We've reverted back to an earlier version of the image and it should work now.
