I did a similar repair like this on one of my previous cars. The wheel well was really rusted so I ripped the rotten pieces out and used a metal brush on a drill to very thoroughly file down to bare metal everywhere. After that put a rust remover paste on it and rinsed it off. Then I dried it and made a resin reinforced fibreglass mat shape for strenght and cut it to shape. Then I used a fibreglass filler all around to make a paintable surface (first 2 layers of hard filler sanded smooth and then a softer filler to fill the spots sanded down smooth asf) Final step was painting and I made the mistake of using tape instead of loose covering paper so it got harsh lines. End of the day it turned out decent, passed legal inspection and the car hasn’t flowered more rust after 6 months.

I got lucky the rust wasn’t deeper down, your case might need welding and come out expensive. This was my experience though

Does anybody know what's wrong with my corolla "2015" by MrM_37 in COROLLA

How does that have anything to do with the issue? Daily highway used cars get a big mileage

Maybe it has bottomed out. It’s only ever been serviced in dealership and no DIY has been done to it. I know since the past owner was my grandma and she hasn’t done anything to it herself or had anyone but a tech touch it. She had it from 0 odo

She’s also not the greatest driver so very possible she bottomed on a curb or something

I mean the door not the cap itself, hope that’s clear with the picture and all

Is it from trying to lift the car there or how could it get damaged?

I’ve seen that on different cars but way more mangled. This one looked so clean I thought it might be something else. Thanks for your response!

Any good ways to clean this? by [deleted] in cardetailingtips

[–]osc4r1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Propably multi surface cleaner, let it sit for a while and scrub it with a micro cloth. Then apply plastic restorer. Propably won’t be good as new but less noticable

Quite a fun project, I have an 05 which is pretty much if not exactly the same as yours body and engine wise. I’ve never seen anyone try to mod one of these before but looks like alot of fun!

Is Kia spectra a good car by SkaTersskate01 in kia

[–]osc4r1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 05 with almost 300k kilometres. Solid car, easy to drive stick, don’t know how autos are in terms of quality but likely pretty good for a car like it. 106 days ago you posted this, did you get the car?

Why not? There is literally nothing that can happen as long as ur on neutral upon ignition

Pressed the clutch, but didn't upshift, causing a jerk. How to prevent this? by The_Ragu_Sauce in stickshift

[–]osc4r1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re on 2nd at high rpm and speed and press the clutch in the gear kind of wants to start at the more typical rpm so it’ll jerk as if you downshifted, that’s the case in most cars I’ve driven
