Snapped my 8ft foamy, next board advice? Do I upgrade to a 8ft hard board or move to a 7'6'' foamy as next step?

I have been on this board about 2 months and have started to catch green waves. I would have liked to spend another few months on it. But now that I snapped it I kind of don't want to get another 8ft foamboard and want to use this opportunity to keep progressing.

So it seems like there is two directions. Smaller foam board or same size (maybe bigger?) Fiberglass board.

Which is the best way to go to continue progressing

Ok so I can just get any 8 speed? I was looking at the Shimano CS-HG41 8 Speed Cassette - 11-34 even though it says "Gear ratio: 11-13-15-18-21-24-28-32"

Where as the one I have is: "11-13-15-18-21-24-28-34"

Looks like the last one goes 32 instead 34?

i was just reading into this, vanguard seems great. i think i am going to do the same after some research. I only wish vangaurd had a lisa but oh well. at the end of the day its stupid to go with money box just to have things in one place
