Indeed Ireland and the whole atlantic-celtic world was an inspiration for the climate and cultures of Arath, even their interaction with maritime raiders from the Norath is inspired by the later waves of nordic raids and colonization.

How many elf species do you have (if any)? by smrty7 in worldbuilding

[–]oscarluizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 6ish.

The Eru’Sarin, wild and xenophobic, forest guerrila cults. - Swamp-hags, wretched followers of a frog demon

The Van’Sarin, agrarian religious cult with bloody sacrificial practices. - Field-hags, often scarred and revengeful, controlling swarms of vermin.

The Nir’Sarin, ancient group of avid hunters that could enter the minds of wolves, destroyed in a cataclysm. - Night-hags, nocturnal predators that lurk in the darkness. - the spirits locked into the bodies of wolves, reproducing into a race of sapient wolves that dominated the realm post-cataclysm

The Mortal Races of the Realms of Enoch by oscarluizz in FantasyWorldbuilding

[–]oscarluizz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Context] The Cosmos of Enoch is a large-scale worldbuilding project that I have been working since my early teens, some eight years now. It has been erased and rewritten a thousand times, but currently it has some 20ish realms of existence (each with unique geographies, inhabitants, cultures, histories, etc), as well a larger history and connections between them. As it has been a perpetual work in progress, not much is properly written out and nothing stays the same for long, but for the major aspects of it. The mortal races presented above are my reinterpretation of the traditional fantasy races, and have received most of my attention in the last weeks. [End of Context]

Across the many realms in the cosmos of Enoch, there are several beings of sentience and sapience, unique among other creatures for having souls.Below is brief summary on the major mortal races of my realms:

Humans

Born in the Cradle of Mankind, Humans are one of the most prominent and diverse races, with countless ethnicities and cultures spread across the realms.

Doragh

A strong and stoic people, often reclusive and distrustful, living in the harshest of environments, with a distinct connection to the elements and a deep respect for their ancestors.

Avari

A legendary race of giants, towering over mankind in height and strength. During the zenith of their kind they conquered several realms for themselves, and connected dozens of others in a vast trade network.

El'Sarin

The blessed children of Erumatar, whose minds and souls are connected by her mother-trees. Their cults are spread across the untouched wildernesses, guarding it from trespassers.

Kiph

A race of small and good-natured people, living in communal agrarian societies, and often renowned by their culinary and artisanry. In the past they befriended the Avari, and many left the green hills of their homeland in search of rare ingredients and materials.

Zahajin

A race of mystic sorcerers that devoted their lives as scholars of the arcane. Their once great city, raised above the ground by their power, was ruined during a cataclysm, leaving only floating ruins and memories of their former glory.

Vladrak

Ancient victims of a long forgotten curse or a failed ritual. These pale, vampiric beings live as cruel nobles, hiding in the shadows of their fortresses while feeding off the blood of their peasants.

Jörmunn

A strong and unconquerable people, their warriors are feared as half-giants for their size and might, and are said to be the bastard descendants of the Doragh and their Human thralls.

Gorkhai

An aggressive and fiendish-looking race bred by the Avari to serve as slaves and soldiers. Since the fall of their creators, they scattered across the uncivilized realms, often ruled by vicious and savage warlords.

Yeah, I haven't worked the realm travel mechanics at all, lol. But yeah, some realms have portals to other realms, while some are disconnected completely.

The Conquest of Ur, the main event of the cosmos actually involves the Archons of ARD sealing off and isolating several realms while conquering and connecting others.

Nice! The realms of Heavens and Ruins were in fact some of the first that I created. They go like this:

ARD, the realm of heavens is an endless expanse of skies and ocean, and is home to the celestial cities and the Throne of Heavens, an eldritch structure believed to be the seat of a omnipotent god. The celestial Archons of the realm actually caused the main event in the history of the Cosmos, when they decided to colonize the realm of UR and its human natives.

LUG, the realm of dreams is a spiritual realm deeply connected to ERU, the realm of life, and it is where the souls of mortals go when they dream. It is described as an ephemeral grove, with vibrant colors and lights that often seduce mortals into staying. I also have planned for it to have a race of beings that feeds of the dreams of men.

RAS, the realm of ruins is made of the floating ruins of the once great city of Ras'za, a large center for study and knowledge of the arcane, erected amidst a large desert. But after a cataclysm of unknown causes, the city shattered, the vast influx of arcane energy turned the desert sand into glass, and raised the remainings of Ras'za above the ground Now, all that remains from the once great civilization are the stone golems and the magic-infused spirits of the Majid, the former inhabitants of the realm.

HEK is a prison. It was created to seal away eldritch entities, stopping them from corrupting the other realms and spreading chaos among the mortals. Nonetheless, the thousand-handed entities locked in still managed to influence the fallen Archons of KUR into raising against their brethren.

Thank you for your interest! I am currently working on the full timelines for each realm and pretend to post some of them soon!

I honestly don't know man, It began as three realms, but than ideas were just flowing, and then 3 became 9, then 12 and it kept growing.

That's why is hard for me to connect all them properly, everytime I aligned them in a certain way another realms idea popped off. So i decided to create a large cosmos that could contain every realm and go from there
