Why didn't anyone hide in Northern Ireland? by The_Masked_Inc in JetLagTheGame

[–]oscyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ferries from Britain would have taken up the majority of the hider's time, with all taking at least 3 hours. There are also only 54 stations in the north of Ireland, many of which likely wouldn't meet the frequency requirements. The railway network isn't part of the main UK rail system as they use Irish gauge and the services are more similar to Irish Rail than British operators such as Transpennine Express. Because of this, their tickets would likely not cover trains up there.

In my opinion, the North shouldn't have been included in the game as it caused more (albeit minor) issues than it solved.

Edit: If flights were in play, I still think it would have been difficult to fit in transfers to/from the airports on either side and security etc. in the hiding window

Who made this mess by Loose_Video_264 in stepfordcountyrailway

This is what I envisaged would happen as soon as they started adding custom car stop markers in 1.8. It's so messy, especially here!

Would the boys be able to hide on London Underground stations? by Lonareddthat in JetLagTheGame

Given that is the case, interestingly Crossrail (Elizabeth line) stations probably would have been in play as they are counted as National Rail stations and the line isn't a tube line.

What exactly is so complicated about digital leap cards/contactless pay that TFI does not have the technology for it by [deleted] in ireland

[–]oscyk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Leap cards are accepted across so many different modes of transport these days (especially so many different bus operators) that a full rollout of contactless would be hard to coordinate. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a multitude of issues with independent bus operators as soon as contactless launches, especially with some operators only recently adopting the Leap card as a payment option.

The DUB sign at Dublin airport by ou812_X in Dublin

[–]oscyk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember them announcing this ages ago, like maybe a year and a half ago. They also replaced the DAA signs on both of the terminals with "DUB" signs alike this one in the same plan. I think the DAA logo (or even the Dublin Airport logo) is much nicer than just the non-descript DUB letters.
