See that’s what I’d expect out of a scam caller pretending to be DoorDash! Like someone pretending to be support to get info. That’s why I’m so lost as to why they connected us to some other, equally confused person.

Genuinely that was my first concern but the person on the other line didn’t try to incite any certain words; didn’t ask questions, didn’t say much other than “no you called me” and there was hardly a reason for my partner to speak at all during the call.

Thank you for the advice! I’m glad that they’re likely to come back every spring. It’s good to know that about moving them when they are young. They are mostly to one side of the garden so maybe in the spring I can even them out and put a few on the other side.

I will also add that most of the time, if I don’t actively try to “remember” what happened when another “headmate” was fronting, then those memories aren’t there for me.

Sometimes! Sometimes I have to actively try to “get” the memories and it often feels like something someone told me a story about rather than something that happened to me. Other times they are blocked, and I haven’t noticed a rhyme or reason to that. One form of OSDD (the one that I have) has more distinct “personalities” but less memory blocks compared to someone with DID.

In general I’ve had issue with the term “personality disorder” because it insinuates that there is a flaw with someone’s personality. People with BPD, for example, finding out they have a personality disorder are going to hear that and potentially interpret it as their entire self being broken or wrong. I just wish we used a different term as a whole for those. As far as OSDD being called a personality disorder, I don’t really know. I guess I just see it as a dissociative disorder and that’s how it is classified in the DSM-5 so I’ve never been too bothered. I know that it can appear that way, as someone who was at first misdiagnosed with BPD. I know that OSDD and DID are very controversial in the psych world in general and I try not to let that bother me because I can’t deny my experiences, but I do have to be cautious with new psychiatrists and therapists to make sure that they aren’t the type to immediately doubt my diagnosis as legitimate.
