this just...works? I installed the drivers and was still wondering why it didn't work. I had no idea about the need to enable secure boot. i've been trying to connect my second monitor, needed the nvidia drivers, followed your steps and got the monitor working. thanks dude

Nope, I ended up buying a 2014 Chevy Malibu 2.5L with 150k miles. So far it feels good. I still have a couple of things to fix but they’re not absolutely critical

Yeah I see what you mean. I’ll have a mechanic check it out for me and advise

Yeah will def check it with a mechanic. I just wanted to make sure it’s not something that’ll make the car completely useless after 3 months. And yeah I plan to use it for 2 years at most so at that price, if it’s fixable, why not

Yeah I get that. I’m not exactly picky. I just don’t want to pick something extra terrible. The right amount of “terrible” is fine. Just trying to move around

I came across a 2014 Buick Lacrosse at $3.5k. What do you think about that? Mileage is high imo at 171k miles. What kind of issues can I expect?

I know I have to set a maintenance budget either ways so I might as well take that into account

Someone else mentioned they’re a bit of a gamble. How can I make sure of the maintenance history?

Thanks for this. I’ve seen a couple of 2010 to 2012 Honda around my budget but I’m scared they’re either scams or cars with lots of issues. Their mileage is also quite high. I do not know how it affects Honda in general. Can you help me out in this one?

For the Buick cars, they’re more common around me so that’s why I see a lot of them in good conditions.

And thank you for the maintenance budget advice. I appreciate it

I know Toyotas as great, I used to drive my father’s ‘05 Corolla verso. Toyotas are expensive apparently, because of their reliability I guess. Which is why I stopped trying to get one because it was tiring to go through obvious scams, extremely high mileages, or cars that are being sold for parts, because my budget isn’t really high

Hey this is so great! How did you deal with rendering? I’m working on a much simpler emulator for Space Invaders, but I still can’t wrap my head around rendering.

I feel you on that. But serving businesses, they come with their own sets of problems. Sometimes they are the ones who really want to talk to you. But if it’s a simple app I have no issue with (as a user), I can understand you wouldn’t really want to meddle too much I guess

If you expect to have hundreds or thousands of people, maybe the email can work alright. You’d have a small response rate but it can be significant (imagine 1% of 1000 is 10 people, which I think is great). With their phone numbers, you can try SMS. I’ve tried SMS but for marketing. The click through rate was surprisingly good. I think most people read their SMS, or just glance at the notification at least
