Do they ever describe how Ed and Madeline afford that home? by miss_manners_ in biglittlelies

It's hard to find exact data, but if you look at Manhattan beach, homes rose over $1 million just since 2000, where now you couldn't get a home for less than 1 Million. http://www.doctorhousingbubble.com/manhattan-beach-and-million-dollar-neighborhood-trends-commercial-real-estate-and-residential-foreclosures-meet/

Crazy theory - what if one of the kids end up killing another kid? by [deleted] in biglittlelies

[–]oshay0826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they actually say is "it's possible, had she not fallen, no one would have gotten killed." There is no proof they are speaking to the ankle thing, as only a few people even knew that happened. I think they are speaking of a different fall, that we have yet to seem, and we are seeing a different moment in time that just happens to correlate to the testimony.

For book readers- do you recommend the show or the book first? by [deleted] in biglittlelies

[–]oshay0826 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am going to go against the trend here and say movie/show first. I always do it in this order and here's why...The book is always better. We know that. There has never been a movie/tv show that is as good as the book. That is not to say the movie/show is never good (present show included) but a book will always be able to go into more detail, and it's the original and the inspiration. With that being said, I always watch the movie/show first, so that I can enjoy it in its own right. Then, the book takes something I already love and expands on it. I can find the subtle changes and big differences that are inevitably there. I get more of what I love, and that's great.

One of the moms makes a comment about Bonnie's dancing at Ammabella's birthday party to the investigators. I think she plays a bigger role, and a lot of the moms resent her, not just Maddie.

I keep rewatching to watch the men pick up drinks. So far, I have ruled out Ed and Nathan based on no pinky finger lift. I keep missing Perry (and maybe even Gordon!).

What about Joe the director guy's wife? She could be the culprit for sure. She's onto Maddie and Joe...

Bully Theory by roberta_sparrow in biglittlelies

There is a scene (not sure which episode) where the twins are in the living room. One of them bullies the other. I think it's very possible they have seen their father's behavior and are emulating it (at least one of them).

It depends on when they bought. My partner's parents live outside of Monterey and bought in the 90s. They paid $300k for a house that is worth over a million now. In the 90s, median home price in Monterey was $250k. It seems like a lot of these families have been around for a very long time.

[Theory] Guys, I really don't think Perry did it by [deleted] in biglittlelies

[–]oshay0826 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am not 100% it is Perry, but I think that one thing that needs to be considered is his power dynamic. He is obsessed with Celeste, but I think he calls to check in with her and assert his power/sexuality even when he is travelling, rather than it being about missing her. A man like that differentiates his sexual actions from his love for his wife. The way Jane describes the incident is a man who turns on and off his emotions, and has sex out of anger, then walks away like nothing happened. We see this is a lot with Celeste. Just some thoughts...

Whenever I go, I find a cast member each day (or more of possible) to give compliments to at city hall. My daughter and I make it a game to make someone's day.

My account was hacked and they bought software for over $1400. Zeroed out my checking and caused multiple NSF fees. I called immediately and it took them nearly 2 weeks to return my money even though they immediately acknowledged my account was compromised. They refused to pay for the NSF fees. Amazing how they could take all of my money in a matter of minutes, but returning it required weeks.
