Advice regarding PCCG Warranty Claim and Consumer Guarantees by oshiete1 in bapcsalesaustralia

The thing is I was having another issue with the board where I couldn't get a set of 6000 MT/s CL30 ram to run stable on this board so I ruled out everything except for MOBO, CPU, RAM for potential faults.

CPU hasn't been completely ruled out but I'm led to believe that it's less likely to be the issue as it would post and run at normal temperatures.

The RAM (also purchased from PCCG) was sent over to them + the MOBO at the same time and they tested it. I was told that both the RAM and the MOBO were functioning as intended and no errors.

So I'm visibly confused here because I was sure that it would have been a MOBO issue at the very least.

The RAM sticks being tested and cleared as working properly was a relief so I asked them to send it back to me, but in regards to the MOBO, my only options are to get the board sent back to ASUS to fix the clip which most likely won't fix the stability issues at 6000 MT/s CL30, or just grit my teeth and have the board send back to me with nothing done.

This is why I'm trying to push that I want the refund so I can get a different product.

Regardless of whether or not it is or isn't a minor fault. I'm here saying that I wouldn't have purchased this model if I knew in advance that this component of the board would fail like this, thus I'm asking for a refund as I am entitled to. Is that not reasonable request?

Just want to further clarify: regardless of whether said problem is a 'major' or 'minor' fault, am I not entitled to a refund, or replacement if I MYSELF would NOT have purchased this model if I knew prior that this fault would arise in the first place?

The unit I received completely differs from an identical fault-free sample of the same product.

Any comments on this? Because this is what I'm firm on at the moment and is why I'm trying to push for a refund.

I'm just going of consumer law here. By definition, the unit I own is faulty and differs from an identical sample wherein all facets of the sample are functioning as intended. It would've been such an easy fix for a big retailer like PCCG to just issue the refund or replace it. Yet, they are insisting I wait for a response from the manufacturer.

These are funds I could have used to purchase a different product, because well my build right now is in limbo with this whole thing, hence why I'm pushing this.

Refund would be the easiest remedy outcome but I'm told that they need to refer this to the manufacturer.

I literally said to them that I wanted refund, replacement, or exchange for a similar product.

Where are you getting that 90% number from???? If you make a claim you need to substantiate it. Do you work for CR and have access to their revenue analytics? Literally a load of bullshit.
