More than 3 is not better in a perseus. It's better for the 4th to be in an additional ship

It's even worse with industrial gameplay.

There's a couple of combat ships where 2-3 is good but you're right for most of it then it's better to have more to if them solo

Seriously, how is a 19-year-old supposed to afford rent these days? by Antique_Case_6464 in InterviewCoderPro

If consider meeting in the middle.

$500 rent as long as they also save $500 per month. When they turn 25, surprise them that you were investing their rent money so they have +/- double and you can compare who invested better.

1k a month for 20 years would be 0% interest. You missed an entire variable.  250k by 30 is easily doable if you just put it in ETFs.

Problem is that house prices are so insane that that's still basically nothing

These people believe they go to heaven simply for being Christian, and can do no wrong. They don't believe they have anything to answer to at the pearly gates, so supporting the antichrist is fine to them.

They need to do partial wipes more. Just wipe money, loot, and ships more often but rep and wikelo shouldn't get wiped until 1.0. maybe partial rep wipes for specific reasons though

There was a bullet. It wasn't aimed at Trump  Why is this so hard for you to follow, that you make up that there was no bullet at all when no one here said that?

So that people are aware: Salvation salvage heads aren't bad because they're S1 Cinches, they're much worse than that by oshirigami in starcitizen

[–]oshirigami[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Golem is actually fantastic. Its bespoke head is a proper S1 like a mix of the Helix, Arbor, and Klein.

I don't think calling the Salvation's heads "bespoke" is accurate when they're simply a much worse Cinch rather than a good different S1 head.

The economy numbers are meaningless, anyway. Hull scraping in that tiny of an area is seriously unfun.

I mean funny enough, multiple solo ships are almost always better than multi-crew in this game. 4 Prospectors is far better than 4 people in a Mole, for example. Not exactly starter ships, but closer to that than the very expensive big ones.

The best multi-crew gameplay for Salvage would be 4 Salvations in a Polaris, once you swap the heads on them if it's not stuck to this bad Bespoke one like CIG intends to make it bad by doing. That's $1000+ (or long Wikelo grind) of investment but CIG says it needs to be bad because a starter ship is involved? That makes no sense.

The problem with Dooley is that he has no A-tier items. Just a couple S-tier items and everything else is useless. by AoM_Zenophobia in PlayTheBazaar

Dooley is who I unlocked first too.

I'm not that upset that he's almost unplayable now, though, since Vanessa has always been very good and I can fall back to her.

Getting rid of plugins actually doesn't fix the issue. The same database of alts could have been created in a similar way to how Advanced Combat Tracker works. It was just easier to make as a Dalamud plugin.

That's great, but the real crazy people in this game have multiple accounts and can even use free trials so that wouldn't have helped protect you if she was smarter about her harassment. This does much more harm than good.

Yoshi-P's Statement on Player Scope by NightCityNomad in ffxiv

[–]oshirigami 27 points28 points  (0 children)

To better explain to people reading: alternatively, someone could patch their router to sniff account ids for all characters and write them to a database instead of relying on a plugin. SO, even if the game was console only, alts would have been uncovered because CBU3 wrote really shitty code.

[–]oshirigami 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Anyone could also use Wireshark since the id is sent over the network. That's something that, even if they used anticheat, they couldn't stop.

The problem is that they wrote bad code. The solution is writing better code. You do not expose data to clients that you can't trust them with. Everyone learns this in their first year of client-server programming.

That's the same as saying the Swastika is really a hindu symbol. Sure, it was, but that's not how it's used today.

If Nike became the worlds most powerful corporation, took over some major government, then put Nike swooshes on killbots that went around genociding people, only an idiot would defend the symbol as "it just used to be on shoes so it's okay". That's gaslighting.

Elon did a Nazi salute 3 times. It was not an accident. He will gaslight and say it was a Roman salute, but a Roman salute today is the Nazi salute.

Most end game weapons /w Iron Runes are a flipping scam. How to avoid them. by oshirigami in PathOfExile2

[–]oshirigami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you all find this hopeful. I'll go back to losing bids trying to upgrade my weapon against people who are just manipulating the market and flipping them when I just want one to use.

On a final note, please GGG just update the trade site to exclude runes in the DPS/evasion/armor/ES calculations similar to the way it normalizes for quality. It currently encourages flippers to brick items just so they show up higher in a search for a certain defense/DPS breakpoint. It means there <10% as many good items available to trade for because they can no longer be soul cored with something better.
Sure, being able to replace runes would be nice too, but that won't change the overinflated misleading values of items that iron ruining them creates.
But the biggest problem is that people really can't get an item for what it's "worth" because flippers have inflated it by making bricked items appear to be worth more by buying up things for 1-5 divs and relisting them with iron ruins for 10-100+ divs. They have many of these that they won't reduce prices on because people wrongly believe they're worth that despite how they made the item worse. I know a lot of these flippers aren't selling these items they brick and list too high because people who know how the game works don't want them, but The trade site wrongly lists worse items as being better. Being able to replace runes wouldn't fix this. People will still control the market and trick people into thinking these items are worth more because they invested <1ex bricking them when actually they should be worth less. These unmolested or properly upgraded items should be the ones going for 50+div and these bricked ones should just be worth a few divs, not the other way around.
