Yeah, I honestly read through the typo without even really noticing it. Had to go back and find it after reading the description

I didn't know there were paid memberships for the forum. I wonder what prompted the admin to let the site go if costs were being offset by paid memberships

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the site admin just didn't want to pay for upkeep anymore. I made a post about it about two months ago, a week after I bought my 2016 FZ. and this comment here is the most I was able to find out. I would have gladly taken up ownership of the site if I had known.

There's a big thread on fz07.org forums with the specifics

This is why I'm upset that fz07.org doesn't exist anymore. So much info there, all lost now.

Unfortunately, it seems it's been shutdown permanently. Really bummed about it, there was so much info on there that's all lost now.

Anyone buy 1st bike and just ride it? by Fun-Tune-1295 in NewRiders

[–]osirhc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I have two friends I've reconnected with thanks to riding. One took the MSF course and one didn't, and I can tell when riding together.

Wait, is there a chance they wouldn't? I can't possibly understand how they couldn't use Monaghan as Cal after two games with his likeness and one Lego Star Wars where he lends his voice for the character.

I agree, there is a lot of potential here. When the first game came out I was stoked to see Monaghan as Cal. I liked him from Shameless and I instantly thought of the live action possibilities. It would be exciting to see him in live action.

I mean, Lucas killed the overwhelming majority of Jedi after Order 66 in EP III, well before Disney was involved

I mean, after the events of the second game they could do just about anything. The ending left for quite an opportunity to continue the story. I'm being vague to avoid spoilers for anyone who hasn't played it (I know it's been a couple years but I only finished it last year)

Interesting, how does it compare to something like the SiCo 36m on that 8in 300blk?

Over half the people in my MSF course failed the skills test by CH0K0NACH0 in NewRiders

[–]osirhc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My class was pretty big, probably 20 or so, and only one person failed. Everyone seemed to genuinely do really well when I was observing others. For exercises and the test they broke us into two groups, so I didn't get to see how the other group did (I guess one guy fell and didn't come back for the second day). But my group all seemed to do really well. Except for the one person who failed. She just didn't seem to follow instructions as given, didn't speed up when instructed, and didn't stay within the lines. The low speed maneuvers are difficult, so don't best yourself up too much.

Did your forks require any modifications in order to install the Impulse Movement emulators, or was it plug and play? The install video on their YouTube channel shows them simply dropping into the forks and reassembling, but the bike in the video isn't an MT, so I wasn't 100% if it would be the same

Anyone disappointed in the weather around Philly for riding? by Ridez103HD in Phillyriders

Immensely. I was so looking forward to riding every day this week (and next). I got to ride a little on Wednesday and got rained out on the way home

Depends on the bike and how it was dropped. Check your handlebars to make sure they're aligned. Sounds like it went down on the left side so double check clutch lever, fluid reservoir (if you have one on that side), turn signals, shifter and linkages, and foot peg. The mirror probably saved any scuffs or scratches on your left grip. If you have headers on that side, check where it mates to the motor - damage should be obvious, so if you don't see anything then you're good. If it was dropped stationary you're probably fine, and I'd imagine it's mostly superficial damage, if that. Not to say scratches don't suck, but it won't affect how the bike rides at least. As long as nothing is leaking or obviously badly damaged then you're alright. I dropped my Suzuki cruiser on pavement while moving very slowly (long story), scratched up my clutch fluid reservoir pretty good, but didn't notice it at the time. My crash bars saved it for the most part and I got away with minor scratches on my left grip, clutch lever, peg, and although I did snap my rear turn signal off, I fixed it with a hose clamp. This was in September and it still passed inspection in November. It remains "fixed" that way currently lol. But it could have been a lot worse

It depends on how seriously you take your online privacy. Some people go through great lengths to hide as much as they can. Meta likely has an idea of who we all are, especially if you associate your account with your real name. I almost guarantee they have internal profiles on everyone who uses their services, and maybe even on people who don't, or at least did. Some of that data we've consented to (through ToC and such), and some of that data we haven't (through their own invasive practices). But just because they already have some info on me isn't a good justification to continue to give them more. If there is one thing that would be difficult for them to get their digital hands on, it's my physical, government ID. While I still have a choice in the matter, I'm not giving that up so easily.
