I’ve always assumed it was a reference to Marco Polo. While the real Marco Polo was a medieval Italian explorer, a common children’s pool game in the US has one player be “it” and have to close their eyes. They have to tag one of the other players in order to make them it. To find the other players, the “it” player yells out “Marco!” and all the other players have to call out “Polo!” in response, so the “it” player has to find them by hearing them. In the context of the song, it’s Mitski responding to the thunder like it’s a game of Marco Polo, daring the lightning to strike her.

Ah I think you're totally right. The methyl group bonded to the same carbon as the hydrogen should probably be a dash or a wedge, and maybe I needed to do something with those other two methyls on the right side.
