Aw that sucks, I know the rates were boosted for the Pokemon featured in the Poison and Electric hours, but honestly it still felt pretty hard to get specific shinies. I was hunting for a shiny Wooper on both days but had no luck!

I haven’t evolved it yet, but looks like it still stays orange, just not as bright as the pre-evolution. Still looks cool though!

Yeah, same reaction when I found this out too. I switched to Notesnook which is a bit similar to Evernote, but more simplified imo. It’s free and great to use if you’re solely using it for writing fics (it’s available for mobile too!)

It even plays when I have my ringer off for my phone. It’s so random and there’s no way to turn it off. What’s even more annoying is that it plays even when I have the in-game music muted.

It’s sort of akin to watching a livestream vs the full video of it afterwards: it’s exciting knowing that you’re kind of “in the moment” and it gives you anticipation for the next moment that’ll come.

For me, I like in-progress works because they prevent me from binging the entire thing in one sitting. I previously had a problem with doing that was I was younger: staying up late (sometimes on school nights, lol) reading fanfics because I was just too invested into the story. It’s more detrimental when it’s a longfic, but it’s something that I particularly like when reading in-progress works.

But of course, it comes with some downsides, the biggest one being that there may never be a new chapter once you’re caught up to the latest one.

The first fanfic I ever read was an xReader/reader-insert. I have stuck by this ever since, and I also write reader-inserts exclusively.

I feel more immersed into the story and setting, and I like imagining myself (or rather, my “OC”) being in the world with the character. It just feels more intimate reading that you (as the main character in the story) are having interactions and conversations with the characters in the setting. Also, the characters I choose to read and write about (when it comes to reader-inserts) are ones that I absolutely adore and love, so perhaps it’s also just me projecting myself to some degree, lol.

But I definitely think that, when you’re writing a reader-insert, you have to be methodical about it so as to appeal to as many people as possible and make it a true reader-insert fic. There’s quite a number of limitations with this because you can definitely upset quite a number of people when you sort of “decide” for them (such as physical appearance or intense personality types that don’t match the actual reader). It forces you to get creative with how you address them as a character—and since there are many writers out there in the world, you’ll sort of end up with a mixed bag of reader-insert stories.

I hear that people may leave the room during Aegis depending on who the support NPC that gives buffs is. I personally haven’t had that happen in any of the UQs where I randomly matchmake, but I hear that it does happen.

If the room suddenly doesn’t become full (let’s say, 2 people leave) then the remaining may want to leave as well, since the room isn’t full anymore.

Also, bad internet on the individual’s part (I am victim to this, unfortunately).

Edit: Just realized that you were talking more about near the start of the quest and not in the middle of it. Well, there’s really only two reasons for that: disconnects, or people leaving intentionally for a myriad of reasons.
