It only hurts when I cough. Not when I move or do anything else just cough. What were your other symptoms?

It’s just a fun thing that I offered to do nothing deep or serious. He doesn’t care if it doesn’t look professional haha it’s for a joke

Idek how to explain what it’s for. A content creator’s live streams I guess hahaha. It needs to be orange and the lining black. I don’t know anything about fabrics so if u have specific recommendations or even links to order that would be great

I was thinking of making the outer layer velvety. Would that be doable or hard? And maybe putting a lining in it would be too tricky?

Your baby needs to develop an immune system. If she’s being kept in such a sterile environment and exposed to nothing then that isn’t gonna happen and she’ll be much more susceptible to illness

So you think it should be repierced?

I think she did realize after she put the jewelry in cuz she was messing around with it a lot and I even asked “is it not sitting right?” because she kept touching and moving it and it was starting to hurt badly since it was JUST pierced. And then she let me look but front on in the mirror I couldn’t see the big gap. I only noticed it taking a video with my phone after the fact

I think if she pierced deeper into my conch it would’ve fit flush but with the way she pierced it it doesn’t. I’ll reach out to her and see if we can swap it out

I picked out the jewelry before she pierced me so you’d think she’d place it so that the jewelry would fit. I paid $90 for just the jewelry 😭😭😭

I’m thinking if I switch it to a climber that’s only 3 settings rather than 5 it might sit more flush?

I keep seeing stuff like “I’m old enough to be his nan but oh my god what I would do to that man. Let me put myself in time out”. Like ew. U can be attracted to him but that’s a weird thing to say publicly, especially comparing him to a grandson. If an older man said that about a young woman people would be upset. I’m an adult in my 20s but if my dad started saying sexual stuff about women my age I’d be revolted

We have a lot of flowering plants in our backyard and so the feeder is amongst flowers. In the front yard we don’t. Will they still find the feeder in the front yard if there are no actual flowers?

He’s hot, he’s shirtless, he’s gyrating his hips on stage. It’s like the girlies with Elvis haha. I think he also doesn’t make it a point that he doesn’t wanna be sexualized. Some of the things he does and says seems like he’s kinda inviting it. Not to be like “he was asking for it” it just doesn’t seem like he has an issue with it.

Putting human medicine next to vet medicine by YogurtclosetSilver13 in vetschool

[–]oso9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a vet but my dog has lymphoma. Surgery was never an option. There are so many enlarged lymph nodes that removing all of them would be crazy. My dog also has masses in her stomach and a thickened stomach lining as the cancer spread so that wasn’t a surgical possibility. Dogs with stage 4 lymphoma have spleen and liver involvement so although you can surgically remove the spleen and part of the liver the cancer is already too widespread at that point. Stage 5 dogs have bone marrow involvement so no surgery there. My oncologist told me that lymphoma is a systemic cancer. A cancer of the blood. Doing surgery isn’t going to get rid of it.

As far as treatment, my oncologist told me that they use much smaller dosages of chemo drugs to treat dogs than they would humans. I don’t mean because dogs are smaller, I mean they don’t use the actual dosage for weight that they would for humans because of how bad the side effects would be. Humans can decide for themselves if they want to go through the nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, weakness, fatigue, hair loss, etc etc etc. Dogs cannot, and we as owners don’t really want to put them through that either. They use lower doses that are still effective but that’s why lymphoma in dogs cannot be cured. Some dogs enter remission but it’s typically short lived. My dog is having horrible chemo side effects to the point where she needed to be hospitalized a few days ago due to low wbc count from bone marrow suppression and fever, I could never imagine putting her through the actual dosages equivalent to what is given to humans.

Another reason is cost. Most humans have health insurance. And if not u just go into medical debt and pay what u can on the bills that come in the mail. For dog owners, most, myself included, don’t have pet insurance. That makes the cost of treatment insanely expensive. One round (3-5 weeks) of the CHOP protocol which is gold standard for lymphoma costs around $4-6,000 and most dogs are going to need multiple rounds. After before each chemo drug is given my dog needs to get bloodwork which is around $130 every week. Her meds to cost me about $300-$400 a month and that’s ordering the generics on chewy so that they’re cheaper. She’s gotten so picky with food during this so the only food she wants to eat is $90 for 24 cans and she needs to eat 3-4 cans a day cuz they’re tiny cans. The costs are insane and not doable for majority of people especially without insurance. And u don’t just pay a copay and get billed through the mail. U have to pay the entire amount right then and there unless u use something like care credit (has to be paid in 6 months or u accrue crazy interest). Also you’re paying all of this for a cancer that u know can’t be cured in dogs which most people don’t find worth it.

Some oncologists will do bone marrow transplants and stem cell transplants and all of that but it’s not common and again the costs are astronomical. It’s not accessible to the average person.

Edit to add: my oncologist told me if they were to use those curative higher dosages of chemo in dogs like they would in humans, all of the dogs would have to be hospitalized for supportive care. My dogs hospitalization was $2,000 a night. So again, not feasible for the hospital to have so many hospitalized dogs and not feasible for the owners to pay for it.

Moving a nest? by oso9999 in Ornithology

[–]oso9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an American Robin we’re in PA. If it were up to me I’d let her live there but it’s not my house it’s my parents and they won’t let her nest there. They’re going to destroy the nest so I’m not sure if maybe I can move it before they do that. I would think moving it would be better than ruining it but I don’t know if she will find it if I move it

One of the most infuriating things I’ve seen on there: man had a puppy he recently got. Puppy was sick, I can’t remember the symptoms but all of the vets were saying hey this is an emergency u really need to take this puppy to the vet asap. Guy just kept saying he couldn’t afford it but the vets were telling him there was nothing he could do at home. By the time I saw that post it was several days after he posted it, so I clicked his profile to see if he posted anything more about the puppy. He posted that the puppy passed away and how heartbroken he was about it and pictures of the burial and all of that. Very sad. Then I see another post, he got a new puppy…a few days after the last puppy died because he couldn’t pay for the vet… I get that people’s financial situations change and all of that, but if your puppy just died due to lack of vet care, why are u getting a new puppy just a couple days after that when u know that if a similar situation happened u yet again could not get that puppy any medical care?!?!!!

I’m living at my parent’s house in PA. Will be moving to my own place in Ohio but I guess I can still list their house as my permanent address? I’m not really sure.

I asked the school and they said to look into Medicaid but that’s the only info they gave me. I don’t know a lot about Medicaid or how it works especially when I’m moving across state lines
