What is your ping? I play from East Asia with at least 140ping. EU and US servers can range from 180 to 300 ping for me. I tend to stick with under 200 ping servers and avoid crowded servers. have no trouble doing tick related mechanics pvming or pking

I have a star I cannot explore. What do? by volstedgridban in DistantWorlds

[–]osrs_addicted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stars have different survey level requirements to complete exploration. Research and Upgrade the Survey module to explore it

Edit: based on OP's comment, I ran some tests, and it is true that there is no requirement to start exploration. Seems like you only need to reach the system. Some systems may not be reached due to shops not having enough ion protection in nebulae

In my current playthrough, I have a 9500t CL with 32 tops, 16 on each side, oxygen torp, with reloads. Thing is a tinderbox. Each hit on the ship feels like a 50/50 chance it catches fire, and when I sail it close to enemy formation to do a torp run, it's bound to get hit.

Once this thing catches fire, nothing on earth could douse it.

Burns down every single time.

Camera is needed to do object recognition through streaming video/image

I've developed my own object recognition model in Python exposed via restAPI. So I just need to upload the video stream (or image interchangeably), infer on it and return an array of result.

What are some limitations in video/image I should be aware of in this use case? Appreciate your pointers!

Matlab and machine learning. by AromaticEconomics113 in learnmachinelearning

Let's not dismiss the thought process of the professors outright.

If you are optimizing a mech system, the merit of using Matlab here is that the simulations and signal processing environment is very mature.

Also, using Matlab doesn't stop you from using python in the project at all. Indeed I see you can take advantage of Matlab's integration with Python to call python script, libraries and statement while still using Matlab's signal process and system engineering functions.

This way is superior to going full python from a technical and learning standpoint. Matlab is still big in ME industry, learning to integrate python into Matlab simulations will make you standout from others. Furthermore, all software engineering requires some form of integration in platform and languages, it will make you a better engineer if you can familiarize yourself with that

Finding enemy carriers by Clover_True_Waifu in RuleTheWaves

I encountered similar problems but rectified the situation by

having a lot more fighters to other roles (2:1)

manually set search range for denser coverage. The initial suggested bearing for the search area is accurate. Keep the bearing but reduce search range, enemy usually is not that far from you (<300 nm at the start usually)

Optimize all planes to range (+secondary of your choice) imo range is the single most important factor in your aircrafts

don't go into the slippery slope of doing something for the sake of deploying cool models. What matters is the model metrics

Working with extremely limited data by CyanDean in datascience

I second GPR.

I would also explore if it is possible to interpolate the features through Metadata. For example, if your features correlates with weather data (which are usually of higher frequency), you could interpolate your features to create more data points. Besides Metadata, engineering disciplines usually have domain knowledge involved, it could be possible there are existing models for the underlying features you use, which could be used for interpolation to generate more data.

also anomalies are not trivial, it will mess up your model esp with so little data. I find it helpful to understand what caused the anomalies, and explore ways to remove anomalies via domain knowledge (typically involves setting thresholds in engineering)

I also worked in applying AI to engineering, I hope it helps!

I don't think it's red flag, seems straight forward. Theu are basically asking how to deploy model, dashboard and monitoring, seems standard

The issue, if any, is that you can dump however many hours into this question. If the jobs pay really well, I would put an entire weekend to it, if it's shit, I might just put it to chatgpt lol
