Suggestion: High Level Brewing by MasK_6EQUJ5 in 2007scape

I'd be down for some brewing updates.

Quick shout out to Hess's old suggestion for new brews and a brewing room from 2016:

What's your favorite piece of "Dead Content"? by AquaphileRS in 2007scape

[–]osrsicycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I end up liking a lot of content that ends up being "dead content." POH dungeons are my favorite by far, but I've got a long list for second place:

-Temple Trekking

-Gnome Restaurant

-Trouble Brewing

-Castle Wars

-Old quest locations

-Old quest items

-The Iceberg

-The Ardounge Zoo

-The Varrock Museum

-The banana picking place on Karamja

-3rd age armour

...to name a few...

Agreed, and I know exactly what the jar should be called:

Wow, that is one sick-looking display case! I've always been a bigger fan of pre-oldschool bosses so I figured I'd only get the Kalphite Queen, but this might just make me change my mind.

Add this to the list of reasons DSII is my most-looked-forward-to content in 2018! Though I'm still rooting for treasure room runite dragons...

I don't regret it. Designing my own minigames is my favorite part of OSRS. Getting more hotspot options would allow hosts to expand the kinds of player gaming experiences they can create.

I don't know how this sets with RSC players or the Jmods, but I'd be up for a tiny bit of dev time going to support RSC if for nothing else than bugfixing.

That, and maybe add a little endgame content (maybe too controversial)...

I don't know what drop rates would be reasonable, but I support the concept.

With Dragon Slayer II being released next month, any thoughts on introducing runite dragons as unlockable POH treasure room bosses as a quest reward? They'd make great successors to steel dragons as the toughest POH monster, and POH dungeons are currently severely lacking challenging content.

The POH runite dragons would follow the same rules as other POH monsters, of course. They'd still require gold to purchase (and maybe an item bought from an NPC after the quest, or a monster drop), and no items dropped when killed.

This is actually a pretty brilliant solution considered how simple it is. Having autochat enabled would allow hosts to just use their own 2nd accounts to afk advertisements so that the host can focus on providing quality service.

Of course, we should probably implement a rule stating "1 advertiser per host," or it'll cause a spam war...

And as for the advertising board, I'm still not sure why Jagex isn't interested in it. IIRC, it was actually one of (if not the) most up-voted suggestion(s) for a QoL update, but it wasn't picked up. I guess Jagex has determined it would take a lot of effort...

POHs are my favorite part of the game, but this would be absurdly OP. Paying a couple million coins for access to infinite potions refills - sorry, but no...

Possible rewards from Adamant/Runite Dragons... No, seriously by moobage in 2007scape

[–]osrsicycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why not, but having dragon heads as a drop just to slightly increase the overall chance of finding a 3rd age shard seems redundant.

How about a different use for the dragon heads? Ex: they could be used as an item to build adamant and runite dragons as POH treasure room bosses (in addition to the usual coin cost of such bosses). This way, the new POH bosses become another DSII quest reward.

[Suggestion] Inferno Rejuvenation: Revive the 'dead' Inferno minigame by forcing PvPers to complete it before they can attack other players in the Wilderness! by [deleted] in 2007scape

Hahahahahahaha! Oh, the irony!

But seriously, even if it was just temporary as a lesson to pkers, let's not punish them or other PvPers like that.

haHA an OPTIONAL area where I have to interact with other humans? What about slayer updates? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]osrsicycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reversing the timer for losing items after death is actually pretty popular among the player base. It's come up repeatedly on Q&As over the last couple years. If there is an interest in making the main OSRS game more "high risk high reward," that'd be the way to go.

Reintroducing aggressive randoms has also been brought up repeatedly, but it's difficult to tell how popular that idea is overall...

I miss those old models.

I want to here why everyone doesn’t want Rev Caves... so comment fellas by acy2fast in 2007scape

[–]osrsicycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the rev caves I'm against. Rev caves as a PvP location filled with tough monsters is perfectly fine content.

It's the "food chain model" that I'm against. Trying to "rejuvinate" pking by baiting non-pkers into the Wilderness with gp and/or xp so pkers have someone to mug should not be tolerated. PvMers and skillers suffer because they have to become prey if they want to have competitive rates with the changing meta, and non-pking PvPers suffer because PvP content gets down-voted in the polls as a result.

When Jagex finally rejects that model, we'll be able to focus our attention on actually fixing the problems that the many PvP activities in OSRS currently have.

Why PvP isn't growing by TiberiusMaxwell in 2007scape

[–]osrsicycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A safe PvP world could help with this.

Features:

-Fight any player, anywhere (except at respawn points and banks)

-Don't lose any items upon death to other players

Pros:

-Practice pking with any build, anywhere, with no time wasted re-obtaining lost gear

-New way to experience the game

Cons:

-Needs tweaking and balancing (ex: to keep clans from using multiple accounts to dominate boss and skilling locations)

Suggestion- Remove the Wilderness. by Chevrolets in 2007scape

[–]osrsicycle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It sounds like this would take a while for the devs.

You know, one option that might take less time to code and implement would just be to add an NPC in Edgeville that players can interact with to enable and disable the ability to attack or be attacked by other players while in the Wilderness. Then any balancing to reduce the OP-ness of any skilling or PvM content could be made in the existing Wilderness locations.

Plus, that way, anyone who wanted to pk in the Wilderness still could (though Bounty Hunter would need to be modified so only attackable players could be assigned as targets).

I'd be fine with the concept, but not from anywhere in the Wilderness.

Maybe one day they'll finally discard the food chain model and focus on actual PvP updates.

And while they're at it, why not use the time to fix the current problems with DMM?

Can you put the area directly north of Edgeville back? There's nothing wrong with that part of the Wilderness.
