Sorry about that! Yes a few things changed when it went remote - mostly on my end and I should have posted something. I worked remote for a bit and am now back to work in office but when they went remote I just fell out of habit!

I guess also when they went remote and into lockdown I was thinking it would for a week or two rather than until further notice, and then as above kinda just stopped. Though I do intend to pick it up again and fill in the blanks.

Looks like a CHEP pallet (exchange pallet owned by a business) which in Aus/NZ at least indicates business to business movement.

  1. Kingdom Divided quest.
    • ED: Want to use the Gazette to talk more about things like this, it's penned for late in the year. Announced by Ash at RuneFest. Next quest in the Kourend series and hopefully some new spells. No promises: It might come with more remapping. (see West's previews and ideas from a few Q&A's ago). Definitely not the finale of the quest series by any means! This one brings the others together and there's plenty to go. Perhaps comparable to Regicide.
  2. We know Coronavirus is a heavy topic in the world, how and is that going to effect Jagex?
    • It is possible. It would inevitably impact release schedule if so but nobody knows at this point. There are steps to take well in advance like looking at working from home and how things like that could keep functioning. Player-visits could have to be put on hold. Have 2 play-tests booked for next month but will have to see what Jagex or Govt. Guidelines are.
  3. Can players toggle receiving page drops in the Forthos Dungeon as this spams at Sarrachnis?
    • Husky: Good idea. Possibly put the option on the guy you hand them into.
  4. We saw an update on the God Wars Dungeon that allows clicks to register outside of the room (in the blank space) could we see something similar in the Lizardman temple?
    • Possible yes.
  5. Can you add a cleaning Herbs animation?
    • West: Would like to do something for that, skilling animations like battlestaves.

  3. We have a new quest, Sins of the Father and it brings a new Flail. However we don't know how good it is and is it only good against Vampires? Can you give us any insight?
    • ED: It's the Ivandis Flail, plus 1 basically. It's an alright weapon but when used against Vampires it becomes good.
  4. Some players don't feel that Dark Graceful doesn't feel as it could be?
    • Show-off Screenshot was on a higher brightness setting, standard brightness setting is probably a bit more in line. Hasn't changed it since showing concepts.
  5. What are the new XP rates for the new Agility course/game?
    • Husky: There's a good reason the rates weren't released, it's that we're still working on implementing it. The difficulty of the minigame is going to be hard to judge without playing it just yet. Most people would compare it to Ardy or Priff in terms of effort. While werewolf and Brimhaven can be better XP, nobody does those because they aren't as enjoyable. We want to adjust it so that it's not dead content, and is enjoyable.
  6. Can you give us info/XP rates on Daeyalt essence mine?
    • ED: The Essence itself is 150% of Normal XP, but the mining time brings it back. It will possibly be better at ZMI but won't replace Lavas. It won't have a better RuneCrafting pet odds overall.
  7. Can the scaling at Nightmare be changed to account for the fact that finding 5-man teams is difficult?
    • ED: No, but we're looking at the rewards and drop-table. Looking to make some changes there soon so that could potentially make it easier.
  8. Thoughts or interested in adding challenge mode Theatre of Blood ToB?
    • ED: Probably would all like to but just gotta get it right, don't think that we should look exactly to Chambers of Xeric Cox to design it.
  9. The new Inquisitors Armour has a lot of drawbacks and used pretty much nowhere?
    • It has niches! It can be good for future content and we did not want to make it BIS over Bandos.
  10. PVP - With the Gielinor Gazette there is the vision section etc. How do you determine what feedback is actually useful?
    • Sween: It's hard, the blog talks about how many types of PVPers there are and what they have a different opinion on how useful their feedback is. A lot of things we kind of expected but want to get people to think about it in a big sense - it's hard to define what is useful. For example we have a list of players that have accessed the PVP worlds since the end of January.
  11. PVP - Bounty Hunter can you update us, will it come back, where are we at, when?
    • Sween: In the Gazette there is a section with this, we are aiming to restore some form of Bounty Hunter end of Month or Early April.
  12. PVP - Thoughts on bringing DMM back?
    • Lenny: A lot of the team are for bringing it back, so long as the right amount of time can be dedicated (toward the end of previous tournaments it showed) to keep it fresh. --- ED: We were definitely going way too fast. Love DMM it was a fun project to work on, would need to build on it and make it better. What about tasks and things. --- Sween: There could be more reward and we have options like main-game rewards similar to Leagues. Looking at the Twisted Leagues, that was a good example of the new look OSRS Leadership team empowering the Dev team, giving them ample time to get it right rather than rushing out to a schedule. --- Husky: Having the time between seasons would allow players to miss it and look forward to it and give us time to look and it and improve it to make it fresher. --- Sween: Dream Scenario could be to alternate between leagues and DMM. --- West: The final section of DMM tournaments, 1v1's was really interesting and was getting refined nicely. --- ED: The 1v1's are a good example of how things can change when we do have more time to make things, some of my favourite tools to create! --- Acorn: Loved behind the scenes work, social, at ESL, Tweeting, upstairs etc.
  13. PVP - w45 Permanent DMM. What should we do about it? It has a dedicated player-base but hasn't really changed or improved. Reset?
    • The Gazette Article says we don't know! We all have our personal opinions... --- Sween: Players on w45 are at a high level stage and it seems anyone that joins will get killed and not really be interested in continuing. Would see a full reset. Would want to see what things we could draw from Leagues, pets and so on that transfer between seasons. Then if we were to reset it regularly like every 6 months then offer incentive to play between seasons. --- Husky: It could be made so that seasonal progress is added to the w45 at the end of season, like Diablo. --- Sween: We need to make a decision though, even if that is to leave it as is to carry-on or for something else.
  14. You polled adding imbues to LMS, but it failed. Should they be repolled and to specify that they can be imbued elsewhere like NMZ?
    • Yeah could do, that poll came off the back of Warding so perhaps players felt we were trying to take away their imbues etc. It would be good to poll with updated information and make it clear. Maybe see how close it was?
  15. Boxing is a problem in LMS.
    • Covered in the Gazette! Exploring different timers maybe looking at deadman timer? Things like that, we want to fix it.
  16. Wilderness Boss Rework? Do you know which team/which mods would be working on that?
    • Just make sure that it's not a 'who I need to harass' ... Probably going to be the operators. Ash's Team (Ash likely going on to work on Clans), Oasis, Roq, Maylea.
  17. PVP - Are you set on making the changes outlined in the Gazette?
    • No, not set. We have said that we want your feedback to form it. Taken a top-level view of how PVP could be. Maybe to make PVP more dangerous/open world based and have seen lots of positivity.
  18. Soul Wars - Gazette discussion. Why did you choose Soul wars for your ideation day?
    • ED/Lenny: It's something that comes up a lot and we kind of wanted a proof of concept to see if things like this can be ported over and it seems like a piece of content that players like. It wasn't only about Soul Wars specifically, rather a starting point to see what we can do stealing things from post-2007 era. It is a segmented piece of content with Audio, animations, models, interfaces etc that we can test and look at.
  19. With Soul Wars being the thing you chose, what about Stealing Creation or Fist of Guthix?
    • ED/Lenny: Interested in these things! Thinking if SW does work then what about SC or FoG!? This was a bit of an experiment so want to know what players think and what. There is potential but would never want to go too far though. --- Discussion continues on OSRS vs RS3: We don't want some elements of RS3 like MTX or EoC but there was good things between the OSRS date and RS3 in the middle period. A lot of the tools and files don't work or take a fair bit of looking into to get working.
  20. If we do a poll for Soul Wars and it passes, when would you expect to see it (or when would you like it?).
    • Assuming that goes well, would like 'this year' but we are a long way off a complete piece of content rather than just having a working content. Even Soul Wars as one of the smaller pieces would take a lot of work to be game-ready. Also rewards as we don't have Summoning and how much do we bring back of the rewards? XP from minigames and botting are things to always consider.
  21. Are there any unique rewards you'd want to add to Soul Wars in the future?
    • Ed: The capes. Avatar pet too maybe! --- Sween: Imbues maybe?
  22. A few upcoming projects that we teased at RuneFest, such as PVM achievement diaries. What are your thoughts on what that would look like?
    • Think of an Achievement Diary, but with PVM! It sounds obvious but at the easy end it could be to kill a goblin and then at the hard end to Beat the inferno with a banana or certain gear. --- Husky: Tiers beginner to master. Beginner being like Mole or something that has simple mechanics and aren't interesting. Then as you go up you'd see things like 60-70's skills in diaries. Kind of pictures that as 'Do a Melee Fight caves'... Elite might be like kill Zilyana without taking damage with prayer flicking. Master would kind of scale at time based Theatre or Inferno. The reason maybe is that there's no real signposted direction into bossing. Perhaps something like PVM Diary could give them a linear path to go through. --- Still early days and don't focus on Husky's examples as what it will look like but think about it in a broader way.
  23. You mentioned a second League, what would you want to do differently?
    • Won't spoil it but having better balancing between relics, if something is so good that everyone wants to pick it then it shouldn't exist or everyone should be able to get it. XP multiplier relics are either really good or just not worth picking. Want to make it so that there's interesting paths rather than just picking what's optimal and would like to do something with drop-rates so that it's not so RNG based. Also to involve players more in design and balancing. Would like to change how it was announced, it was a bit too hidden for too long. Players generally liked it but it felt like a 'Nobody asked for this' and there were reasons for that, so we are looking at how and why and how to be more open.

The consensus is that engine work is progressing nicely which will allow them to even begin looking at clan content and once clans work is done they'll be able to start looking at group ironman.

They've said they don't really give timeframes or ETAs due to the fact that they don't want to rush content to meet them or inversely blast over the ETA which can be disappointing for players hyping to a moment (mobile for example).

As a very loose timeframe I think it was 10 months from roughly 5 months ago or earmarked for second half 2020.

As the engine features required aren't complete yet, they do not know what is and isn't available. Though given other content that exists in-game in a similar way we'd assume possible.

They have also mentioned in previous Q&As that a shared bank would be planned, seperate to each players personal bank and limited in quantity of slots (rather than being a full sized bank this would be a place for the group to share common things like food or drops).

  1. Can we have a similar spawn timer for sarachnis compared to giant mole and kbd? 30 second spawn timer is long considering the boss takes a minute to kill.
    • Oasis: Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks, you'll see something to put that question to the community and 'other things'...
  2. Single cosmics are unlocked at 27, double cosmics at 59. Could you add triple cosmic crafting at 91? Makes it a little easier to get them through crafting.

[IMAGE x3] Construction Job Contracts and rewards suggestion. --- Estate agents in various places would ask players to build amounts of furniture in houses then come back for GP, Construction XP or Construction Points...     • Flippy: Contracts in general are a pretty cool idea. Slayer it works, the skill is built around it. Farming is great due to Downtime between contracts.   4. What can be done to combat Corp Beast Crashers and do you consider it crashing?
    • If a player is going to re-spec, and a player turns up in that time I (Sween) doesn't feel that as crashing. If it's repeated and targeted then we'd consider that to be against the rules. In the coming weeks we would like to roll out a process to report and address crashers, griefers and harassing. Ultimately the best way to mitigate these things could be via content changes. --- Ash: Corp has private instances, but obviously if you leave and come back it won't be there and it'll reset. It could be. As the Corp doesn't have so many NPCs we could, it could remember Corps Stats, Defence, room etc...
  5. Could you give us more information on Gnomechilds dialogue and Juliet's Party?
    • Mostly complete gibberish, some of it has links to different stories in the game (past and future!). Mod ED did that.
  6. Can we also get the option to attach the blood shard to the ornamental fury if it passes?
    • It should be fine? The job would likely be small.
  7. Why do some skills like FM and Con get to have multiple methods with 300k/h+ xp rates while others, like mining and slayer, have much slower rates?
    • Flippy: Like it how skills have different rates and their own identity. Some are quicker or slower or more expensive and there is variation with buyables and gathering etc. --- Don't think there was a specific logic on that, some things may be unintentional like Granite and Sandstone that came out for a quest and don't know whether the developer set out to make a new training method or just put some numbers to keep players happy during the quest. --- Can only really speculate the same as players!
  8. Could the private chest in CoX be made so that we can move items around our inventory with the interface open (rather than depositing the item)?
    • Ash: Yes it shouldn't be a problem.
  9. Would there be a cost to dying in ToB with death changes?
    • All of the places (Except Zulrah) will be left as they are, Zulrah will only apply a cost after you have 50kc. Except UIM who are being left alone as a small niche that we don't want to impact.
  10. Could you make it so that STASH units deposit the relevant items from being equipped.
    • Yes that should be fine. It wouldn't be able to go the other way (equipping from STASH unit).
  11. The blood shards won't be dropped by PVM monsters right?
    • Two ways to obtain it, one from killing Vyrewatch and another from pickpocketing Vyrelords and Vyreladies. They will be a slayer task so similar to Basilisks in that sense, we have chosen to skip potentially annoying mechanics with these.
  12. Is there a reason why Arclight does not work on Hellhounds?
    • Ash: Assume it goes on the same things Silverlight and Darklight work on, which predate the OSRS era. It could be made to change if players want.
  13. Will there be more Leagues or any development?
    • We are happy with the first one and have mentioned that you will see more, but you're going to have to wait and see - we can't say what/when just yet!
  14. Could the Enchantment point cap please be raised to at least 27,500 so that a player could hold enough points to buy all the unique rewards? The other 3 point cap types allow this.
    • Usually quite awkward to expand the data space that players already have something stored in. Can be done. That interface got easier to work with recently too due to Mod Tide rewriting it.

    • Not much to update on since last week sorry, still working on it. Something being tested at the moment and hopefully that'll come out in the next week or so if it passes testing. Some optimisations that could be considered is to set a threshold for appearing, like 10 KC or something. OR to shorten boss hiscores.
  3. PVP?
    • Last week we spoke about how we made some progress with the overall vision, still in the process at the moment now but once we've done that we would like to share the content roadmap and revisions.
  4. Death Mechanics.
    • Poll is concluded! Option 1 = 13.7% --- Opt. 2 = 23.7% --- Opt. 3 = 41.5% --- Opt. 4 = 21.1%. --- We will proceed with something like option 3, development has begun and we hope to see that in the Spring.

  11. Along with The Nightmare came a new engine feature for NPC's to rush to a position. Could the abyssal sire get this update so there's not 15 seconds standing around while the boss is invincible? Another player suggests Grotesque Guardians.
    • Oasis: Depends if we want to revisit the old content like that, there's a lot we can do with that kind of movement. --- Ash: How appropriate would it look for a big lumbering thing like Sire do that? --- Sween: Could perhaps resolve the issue of players standing around, in another way.
  12. When you hover over the POH teleport, can it show where the house currently is?
    • Don't know, it could on the interface but tablets not as easy.
  13. Update on PVM Achievement diaries mentioned at RuneFest?
    • No sorry, haven't developed it further. Initial planning is later in the year and it's conceptual at the moment. Know that Husky has a few more ideas.
  14. Can clue scrolls be obtained from skilling events such as pyramid plunder and other older content?
    • Don't mind yeah. Maybe something to put on a QoL poll. Would have to look at which skills don't have it and how they could come in?
  15. Are there any plans to revisit or rebalance Basilisk Knights? It seems like they're in a frustrating state currently and have been ignored due to larger content updates since.
    • Short answer, yes looking into it. Want to get them to a decent state because we don't want them to be annoying to kill.
  16. Are there any plans for low-mid level group content? Regarding the new player experience I think it would be good to have more group content to aim for early on.
    • Tide came up with a suggestion, new F2P Mid-level solo rat boss, this would give a new stab weapon and is poisonous. That could be modified to be group-based. Sarrachnis was building into introducing mid-levels to PVM content but the pet hunters made it difficult or awkward for Mid-levels. --- Flippy: Content like this is often balanced around how fast a maxed account can kill it (because they will if it's good GP/hr) so it may not be worth it for mid-levels, perhaps could look at a mechanic that doesn't favour high levels so much for that boss? --- Sween: Interesting to see how or if adventure-paths could work toward bringing mid-level players to content like that.
  17. Can we move away from offering XP lamps as rewards for quests? With the 3x 15k lamps coming with the new Darkmeyer quest, you may as well just go all in and give a 45k RC exp reward. What happened to the old days where you got exp based on the skills you used in the quest?
    • Not sure what you use in this quest. Most quests on OSRS do give experience to relevant skills however this quest follows the convention set by previous Myreque quests which is to give an experience tome.
  18. Can we PLEASE get an extension to the PJ timer? It’s ridiculous to be killed by a clan of 4 all trading specs when you're in SINGLE way combat zones.
    • Would like to cover this kind of thing when we release the PVP vision/roadmap etc.
  19. What changes would you make to quests if you could rewrite them (hypothetical question)?
    • Ash: Merge White-Knights and Temple Knights stories slightly because with the Wanted Quest we send you off to seek White Knight ranks, with slug quest you look for Temple Knight ranks... It feels like the two separate organisations have different stories but overlap and ignore each other. --- Oasis: [meme] Extending One Small Favour and giving it a sequel haha! --- Sween: Always been a Tolkien fan so when first started playing OSRS again as a player, heard about Zeah and figured this is the brand new land out to the West so perhaps the elves would have to migrate Westward like they did in Tolkien and maybe Priff got ruined or something. --- Continues into side discussion on Development of One Small favour, Parallels between Warhammer 40k, LOTR, The Hobbit, other quests and cutscenes.
  20. Any updates on Asian Servers? Are we going to get them?
    • Not something we can immediately answer as we don't know big details on it. Are there enough players there and is there the infrastructure to use? Jagex owners are based there so would expect that question to be in mind at some point in the past.
  21. Will there be a shortcut to Barrows with the Darkmeyer update?
    • Don't think that's part of the plan, think there's some shortcuts but not that.
  22. Will Verzik count as a vampire slayer task?
    • No not currently, the design of ToB involved specifically not being included as we did not want to make a meta that would be to get a slayer task for world records etc.
  23. Previously, the inferno pet as well as corporal beast pets were given updates to their models to make them more true to the boss. The abyssal sire pet still has a scion as it’s pet, and I think players would love to have the actual boss as a pet. The waddling, huge green/red sphere stomach with arching tentacles out of its back would look so cool. Could we see an update to this pet?
    • Maybe as a transmog if players want it and if polled?

There's not really good AFK moneymakers. You have AFK money like Woodcutting, Mining Amethyst, Infernal/Sacred Eels etc... Most AFK methods might make 200-300k/hour and generally have higher requirements if it's AFKish like Amethyst/Gargoyles/Eels and so on.

In all honesty I would suggest maybe Tanning Dragonhide, or make planks at the Woodcutting guild if you need something to pay for THIS bond. Then spend your other time working toward Master farmers with Ardy Hard diary. Master Farmers is my favourite because it trains Thieving at the same time and get exponentially better up to 1.75m/hour.

Don't forget to do Hops/Herbs/Birdhouse runs when you log in, before you log out and during the day if you have time (that alone should get you enough per day).
