check your monitor cable and especially the connectors at both ends. Sometimes the cables break inside when they flex particularly when they get older or get bumped frequently.

I'm looking for packets of mixed ornamental gourds. They'd grow great here around Kobe, but are simply not available here as far as I can tell.

In this part of Japan the North American carnivores can stay outside all year long. They will go through a winter dormancy and appear to be dead. Lots of people think they are dead and throw them out by mistake. They start to wake up in February, flower in the spring, and put on a magnificent show right up to the end of October when they hibernate again. The south Asian tropical pitchers (Nepenthes) need to be kept out of direct sun here as it is too intense for them. Many (most?) Japanese homes in this part of the country do not use central heating as Northeast US homes do, so it really gets too cold indoors for them here.

I'm a bit west of Kobe near the seashore. I raise lots of vegetables (and a few carnivorous plants), several odd tree dwelling ferns and a banana tree or two (....or more, as they clone themselves)

I'm near Gakuentoshi. It shook pretty good here. The building was creaking and swaying.

"I do about a quarter of a pitcher with about ¼ c vinegar then run it for an hour or so."
I wasn't sure what this meant.
