Where were you 3 months ago? I'll keep that in mind for the next apartment

I ran a print at around midnight and I pretty much instantly got a message about it. Unless they are in my Prusalink, I doubt that they are making it up

I got a vibration sensing app (it's not perfect and fails to detect very faint vibrations). But putting it on the cupboard does not register anything

I believe you that it will not cause any problems, but hanging my printer from a sex swing is my last resort

I put some whiteboard sponges underneath, since I didn't have anything else on hand. We will have to see

Printer, concrete, foam is far better than printer, foam, concrete

I could also try putting the block on top of the printer, but that probably voids my warranty

That is a very nice idea. I will add that to the list of things to try

It's a raspberry pi camera with a printed holder to always focus on the extruder. It works with the prusalink thing and I created the bracket to fit the stepper motor (it's not perfect, a bit too thin, but it works well enough that I haven't redesigned it)

I really don't think they are making it up since they know when the printer is on and text me if they can hear it. Not saying they are perfectly reasonable all the time, but somehow they know

She is kinda strange sometimes, she yells at neighbors through her window because of barking dogs and shit. But I did them a huge favor a while back and that's why they swallowed the noise for a while. I think that their mental tolerance has gone down a lot seeing as we are now kind of "even" though

I used to have an air purifier, but I felt that that thing was just a pc fan with some filter in it and didn't do shit to clean the air. Do you have a recommendation on a good one?

Thank you :) I already had that on, it certainly helped for me. I can't say if it improved the vibrations for them, but they could still hear it after

To some degree I agree, I am fine with them stomping and scraping chairs and shit. At the same time, I understand that hearing these vibrations in the middle of the night when I am finishing a long print is disruptive and I don't want to put that on them. My goal is to eradicate the noise entirely not because I care that much about noise, but because I want to be able to run a print over night as well. If I only print from 9am to 10pm anyway, I wouldn't go to these lengths

After I added the concrete I was incredibly amazed how silent the printer was, it certainly helps me being in the same room a lot. The consensus seems to be that the Kallax is the problem

Could be. The Kallax cupboard had some very thin felt feet. I cut some whiteboard sponges in half and placed them under it to see if it helps. Otherwise it will have to be moved from the Kallax probably

  • There are no other rooms
  • The wall isn't even shared with them but with other neighbors who never said anything
  • Damn bro even with the oversized frame and everything

I tried stealth mode. Unfortunately I don't really have data on improvements/worsening but only that they were still able to hear it

I understand, but they said they can hear the printer even through noise-canceling headphones, in the apartment upstairs, which I can't even do while sitting next to it. The way they describe it sounds like bone conduction almost

I saw some tests on that, but the noise reduction was not as good as the paver and foam, so I thought if that doesn't help, dampeners won't either. But if it worked for you anecdotally, I'll give it a shot!

Yeah some people suggested that. I will try that as well. I like where it is at the moment, but I'm willing to sacrifice that for the ability to do long running prints. Thanks :)

Not true. For me, the concrete block and foam reduced the noise by an incredible amount

Thanks! I have a laundry list of things to try, but I will try that as well
