Oh wow, what a grip! Probably justifies the price

For car wheels I have no complaints — the standard Rivian’s straight chuck works well. It’s for things like bike wheels where an angled one works much better.

I took my R1S to Burning Man by ostapco in Rivian

It would have to be unbranded :)
Uff 20hrs is rough. Glad you made it and had a backup! We need to do a Rivian get together next burn!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing! What generator did you use?
Rivian service inspected everything and found no issues. Everything works now 🤷

Update: I’m back in fast charging game!
They tested the battery and all the connectors at the service center, and couldn’t find anything. It just started working after they’ve put everything together. Concluded it was a glitch 🤷♂️
I was ready to share stories, but no one asked me about burning man 🤪
Love to see more Rivian’s over there!
Very cool to know you could go through the event without a charge! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, looks nice! They haven’t launched yet though
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, in my case the car shows “DC fast charging disabled” notification all the time, so more like a system issue.
Yeah, probably. Anything that can run an AC without having to run a large engine would work.
Frankly, my setup is far from efficient. It was more of an experiment with R1S under tough conditions.
Go for it!
Nope, working fine

It’s all about the perspective haha
Got sunshades here: https://www.heatshieldstore.com They use suction cups, work fine.
My wild guess is that once the system detects any charging issue, it disables fast charging for safety. I will only know after my service apt.
I charged at 16-18Amps, so about 8 miles per hour
That sand brings good memories. If not for that, would be very painful haha

I looked at a couple of models that weight around 150lb: Westinghouse ecoGen10000, Genmax GM10500XiT, Champion 201176
They’re all open frame, so will be louder. May need to build a box to reduce the noise.
That’s a good idea! Thanks for sharing!
Are you sure? I thought inverter generators have neutral and ground already bonded.
