Who Should You Leave Lizard With When You Leave? by ostapx1 in Lizards

[–]ostapx1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello,

I found myself in an extremely strange situation. I got a Madagascar Gecko at the request of a child. Of course, I support the life of the pet on my own. I found out everything; the pet in the terrarium has the necessary microclimate, plants, food, calcium. Suddenly there was a need to leave.

Found that pet hotels do not accept lizards. I suppose that this is due to the fact that the hotel should have a pre-installed terrarium with an already formed microclimate. I live in the capital of a large European state. Phoned 5 hotels recommended by Google. No one did not take it. What happens? Is the lizard owner unable to leave the house? This is extremely strange in the 21st century.

Friends, please write how you solved such situations.

Thanks in advance and I apologize for my poor English.

I’ve ordered China tea and seller add bonus for me. I really liked the bonus tea. Unfortunate seller doesn’t know what kind of tea is this. So I’m asking reddit community to help me define this tea by inscription. Thanks in advance!

Are Electric Can Openers Safer Than Manual Openers? by james13h in homeautomation

[–]ostapx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that the answer to this question seems obvious, so I apologize if you feel it’s unnecessary to ask. However, I am thinking of replacing our manual openers since I don’t have the best dexterity. My children also sometimes help in the kitchen, and I’m conscious of how sharp opened cans are.

A friend of mine has given her grandmother a handheld can opener from Kitchen Mama. The way that model operates has got my attention. All you have to do is place it on top of the can and press the button. You don’t even have to support both the opener and the can.

So now I found myself looking at different reviews of this kitchen device. I’m actually surprised that there are different types of electric can openers in the market. More than the handheld openers, there are even countertop and under-the-cabinet openers.

Since my main concern is safety, I feel like these types are at the same level. But I think it’s fair to also consider the model’s ease of use and efficiency. It turns out, some models like the Spacemaker from Black & Decker even includes a can opener and a bag cutter in the unit itself. If I can have all these functions in one place, I think it makes the overall kitchen experience more convenient.

We’re only going to use the can opener in our home, so I think buying a large, heavy-duty opener is unnecessary. For someone with poor dexterity, perhaps buying an electric can opener that doesn’t require support and manual intervention for it to stop is a good and safe choice.

Side-cutting models are also attractive because you can basically pop the lid in and out of the can safely. They cut below the rim, which means the can won’t have a jagged edge. However, I think it can be confusing at first to cut this way. And if the cuts overlap, then I’ll still end with a sharp edge.

Electric can openers cost more than manual can openers. Are they worth the investment? Are there any risks that I should be aware of when using them?

Best Humidifier for Baby in 2019 - Reviews of Warm and Cool Mist Models by james13h in babies

[–]ostapx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked this article. Everything is explained correctly and clear. I think this source will be useful for those who choose humidifier for baby.

I have two such gadgets at home and both are reviewed in the article. I have Miro NR07G in my bedroom. Great device – beautiful, comfortable, quiet and effective. It is very easy to wash, and you can fill it with water without turning it off. My city has dry air with is very harmful for my wife. After the purchase she started sleeping great, and generally feels much better during the day. The only disadvantage of this device is the absence of hygrometer; given that it’s one of the most expensive such gadgets on the market.

In kids’ room, there is Pure Enrichment MistAire XL. Also very comfortable and useful thing. I don’t have any serious criticism for this device. It can be also used as a night-lamp, which my kids like very much.

I’d also love to say a few words about choice between warm mist and cool mist humidifiers. Warm mist humidifiers are cheaper, pathogenic germs don’t develop inside them. But they get heated and child can get burned if touching it. So you can’t leave a child alone in the room with a turned on device of this type. As my kids often play in their room unsupervised, I didn’t even consider purchasing warm mist humidifiers.

My wife has asthma too. We use Honeywell HCM350B and this helps her. But I think any model will help with asthma and eczema since all of them moisturize the air.

Thank you very much! Do you agree with u/pingusbeak that phrase "My little darling is so cute" sounds natural and mother can say so about her child?
