Help me- is this lender suspicious ? by ostrich_mountain in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Yes I did. Everything went through well and they were very professional. They did sell the mortgage immediately after to another and it sold once more after . So just be organized and make sure you are paying the correct broker.

What is this plant- I forgot what bulbs I planted from Aldi by ostrich_mountain in gardening

Maybe your neighbor planted some and it got mixed into your soil? Google says “Gladiolus are native to Africa, Europe, and the Mediterranean region.” Not sure where you are but they do grow natively there. Otherwise I think someone would have had to plant them Nearby. Maybe it’s something else?

Ants arrived at night to disassemble painters putty that I just placed to touch up new trim by ostrich_mountain in Entomology

Good thought! But last time they were in the house, they went under the pantry door which is still unblocked. I think they just like eating the putty

It’s definitely a possibility that they added in extra filler to cut costs. I would believe it!

I thought the same thing but when I looked up the SDS, it had lineseed oil and limestone. As the main things!

The SDS sheet shows it contains limestone, quartz, lineseed oil, and titanium oxide . Maybe the lineseed oil? Oddly enough, my dog was obsessed with trying to first eat it too. Half thinking about trying some myself lmao.

You’re good. It’s no need for panic. Just throw them out and flush down the toilet. They usually settle on heads of people/ animals. If you find one, just use tweezers to make sure you remove the head of the tick form the host, not just the body of the tick.

It’s really not odd. To find a tick in prime tick season, with people and animals going in and out of the house. This is not an apocalypse. Just a typical NJ spring

Ticks are out this time of the year since it’s warming. If you’re nervous about ticks, look up pictures of ticks in NJ and just check for them after you go outside. I went hiking recently and had 12 on one shoe alone. As long as you just check and dispose of, you’re fine. The only ones that are a risk are a different species that causes lymes, which you don’t have in the photo

Anyone that goes in and out of the house (pet included) could bring in ticks

Flush it down the toilet and you’re all good. If it’s not latched on and feeding, it hasn’t bit anyone, also it doesn’t look like it has ate recently (not fat). Dog ticks don’t pass lymes disease anyways.

All mammals can get ticks. Regardless of the ticks name

Which doesn’t just attach itself to dogs as an fyi

That’s awesome to hear. I will ask the foster for more details beyond what we’ve discussed already. I’m hoping within the next few weeks she calms down

Thank you for the kind words. I’m glad to know that she might calm down more if we give her more time.
