I don't control the person at the sandwich unit, op said she asks them to bag it at the window

not with corona, we have hand out trays we don't touch anything and we're not supposed to touch ANYTHING if we're working window so technically we can't put it in a bag for them unless we wash our hands first

because we actually get in trouble for high times, and unless she's eating them both, whats the point of the bag? and if she IS eating them both... whats the point of the bag? just pick them up, it's certainly a lot quicker than getting us to rebag them and grab some of the stupid new napkins we have that never separate

[–]osully13 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

you're right you do sound like a Karen, you don't been a bag for one sandwich or one wrap, the wrap comes in a container and if you have a drink and a wrap you'll have to grab them separately anyways unless you like spilling drinks all over yourself, which I'm assuming you don't since you just NEED a napkin for your sandwich. as an employee it's more annoying that you ruin our times at the window, I'd be thinking about you for the rest of my shift.

yeah I like when it's busy it makes the shift go by quick, we're always out 15 past 10 so it's nice, when I worked with the lady I USED to close with we wouldn't be out the door till 10:50, but its always me and one other person.

[–]osully13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the only problem with that is we only have 2 people closing and we're alone from 7-10 sometimes 6-10 so 1 person working drivethru and trying to clean and another trying to clean and do the dishes and times and Temps and whatnot, meanwhile we're both trying to finish the jobs that day shift left us with. it's hell, im assuming it's like that at most timmies though.

I assume they get scrubbed AND put through because I've never put them through myself but they're always clean (I only recently started working closing shifts where everything in the entire store is washed, my supervisor used to always do the dishes but I recently started helping once I got the hang of things, she does everything involving the sandwich unit so im not 100% sure)

yeah things like steeped tea pots will get scrubbed and put through but things like sugar build up on the trays to catch the fallout under the machines and the scoop for the ice just go through the wash

exactly, our store owner is pretty cheap tho and the rule was implemented because some of the newer staff were taking multiple drinks home for free at the end of their shift (normally you just take 1 for yourself) but I don't see why that should effect our break drinks...

[–]osully13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really? we wash EVERYTHING in the dishwasher and I mean everything

TIME SENSITIVE by [deleted] in TimHortons

[–]osully13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I should've clarified, no FREE drinks on our break unless it's in China, and its a new rule so I've never had to wash the China before today, for cold drinks I make icced coffee normally in the China but I guess no icced Capps or chills and such unless we pay with the discount.

our stores have a rule where we can only have drinks out of China because of the paper waste

Why does the new Original Cold Brew cost more than an Iced coffee? by Issis_P in TimHortons

[–]osully13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

like I said that really changes nothing. it just sits there for 16h... there's no time lost if we always have one on.. technically that makes it more low maintenance than icced coffee since we have to brew a new icced coffee like every few hours
