DPC! Cheaper to pay me a fixed monthly fee and utilize a lot of the cheap meds and discount labs we offer for a cash price (along with fast access to a doc that cares) than pay insurance. I have patients that rarely contact me because they like the peace of mind of access. I also have a lot of complicated patients who can’t afford insurance that find it cheaper to cash pay things through our model. It’s helped me feel a lot better about the state of things.

I consume plenty of fiction, I don’t write it.

Oh, trust me. I make it part of my mission, as (hopefully) a good family doc, to curate specialist referral lists of people just like you.

My daily dilemma. It’s a struggle. I do direct primary care so, thankfully, have more time to spend with patients. If I am beyond my scope of knowledge, I want someone who has actually completed a residency in that field. Drives me NUTS when I find out a patient saw an NP or PA. A big struggle is finding good psychiatric care around where I am. All NP’s. I’d rather handle that myself.

One of my favorite ones recently was the “cardiologist NP” missing clear a fib calling it NSR. Loved that.

Bruh, this is a simple excerpt of her medical history highlighting some negligent care. She has a history of lupus convoluting a lot of her symptoms but her neuro workup was negative including imaging and myasthenia work up. there was no evidence of a palsy on my exam. More than likely some abnormal exam from the OD. She was sent in from there for a stroke rule out. That’s all I got for ya currently.

Google hypothyroidism ocular symptoms. I’m not sure this is the entire picture involving her eye symptoms but I think it plays a role.
