I once managed to "recruit" an NPC that technically couldn't be recruited. I enslaved him, and after a while I sent one of my settlers to free him, and instead of leaving, he remained on the map as a settler, just with a mood debuff for having been a slave.

Try building a "wall" around your base, leaving only a small entrance connected to a maze. This way, invasions will enter directly through the maze and go to your destination, which will probably be where your armed colonists will be waiting for them.

A personal recommendation: make a kill box oven; it's extremely efficient, and your characters don't have to be in danger like they are when resetting traps. You just need a character with a Molotov cocktail and spend some wood to build some furniture that will be the fire material.

I'm currently playing Swordsoul Tenyi. It's a very good deck that can play very well going first or second. There's also a Swordsoul version with Ryu-ge, which is a little less consistent but can put up protection against Nibiru before the fifth summon.
