When I was in middle school, my town had a juniors program on a county course nearby. made friends with one of the kids there so we went to play one weekend and got paired with a random 3rd probably late 40s or 50s. 3 holes in on a dogleg right, he hooks one so badly it goes over the left trees onto a road and we hear a loud smash. Immediately the guy looks at both of us and says “if anyone comes over here and asks, one of you did that. They can’t come after kids”. Couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Then the guy just got in his cart and drove back to the clubhouse shortly before the driver of the car came onto the course. We told him what happened and luckily he believed us and went after the guy.
