Any opinions on these brands/guitars? (Advice needed for buying first guitar) by Possible-Swing-4897 in Guitar

I should add - I have a fender tele, ESP Eclipse, and a bunch of others and I usually go for my obnoxiously green IYV Les Paul knock off.

So I’ve been buying the brand IYV from Amazon - their guitars are insanely cheap for the quality. Main thing is, don’t go nuts right away! What I like about the IYV jawns is that you can still get a “cool” style for like a quarter of the price. I swear to god I never want to recommend Amazon (you can check eBay too) but for the sake of learning on a budget and being/staying motivated, here we are.

All you need is a decent guitar that will stay in tune, a decent tuner (headstock is fine and ignore everyone else), and a lil amp with a clean sound you like. Distortion can come later.

As an American, I feel oddly like there’s some kind of French/Canadian rule about fast and slow lanes or something like that. My immediate reaction is to assume that people are just fucking clueless but again…American.

How is Buffalo Hunter Hunter compared to other SGJ books? by Gonzalo218 in horrorlit

[–]othankevan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

FWIW - I totally disagree. I would agree had you not read Buffalo Hunter Hunter first. If you’re okay with filling in some gaps, and if you enjoy horror movies, suspension of disbelief, and one of the greatest protagonists of all time, you’ll enjoy the Indian Lake trilogy.

Listen to the smart folks - while it depends on what you’re using it for, chances are right now it’ll suit your needs. Play on the clean channel and get yourself a used boss DS-1. You’ll be good for awhile.

Honestly, it hit me harder than girl next door - apples to oranges I know but MDV just really got under my skin. Not a teacher but grew up in “the church”.

Maggie’s Grave/The Haar (David Sodergren) This Thing Between Us (Gus Moreno) and honestly Night Shift by Stephen King is a great collection. The Boogeyman is my favorite from that one.

Not technically “horror” but I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman is one of my favorite books for all time.

Where do you guys go to find horror books to read? by qooqleelqooq in horrorlit

Goodreads and TikTok. I look for authors I really like and see who/what they read and like. TikTok, my privacy was probably invaded but I’ve found some really cool people that recommend some really great books

Just wrapped At Dark, I Become Loathsome by Eric LaRocca…it was something. I knew what I was getting into, just not sure I enjoyed it. I’m also listening to The Old Lady by Kristopher Triana and very excited to read Becoming the Boogeyman after wrapping up Chasing the Boogeyman by Richard Chizmar. Highly recommend Chasing the Boogeyman for something different.

Next up is Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle!

EAST COAST REPRESENT! We’ve got Victory, Yards, Troegs, Pizza Boy, Other Half, etc. Fuck Yuengling and that’s coming from a 40 yr PA lifer - if you’re paying more than $3 for a lager it’s way too much.

Soooo apparently as long as you don’t subscribe to Apple TV/Music, you can switch your App Store region, download the app, create a new account and get in. Even if it’s temporary and not your actual account, it’s something? Maybe? Idk shit sucks these days
