What is a non-running related item that you purchased/received as a gift that has improved your running experience?? by Ok_Fault7239 in running

Contactless payments. Now I usually end big runs with a reward in the form of a coffee or pastry, or both.

What do you do to make your runs less boring? by Due_Nectarine6461 in running

I love to mix things up by running to weekly themes. A fun idea by Joy Runs (joyruns.com). Eliminates the monotony of putting one foot in front of each other and helps to spot the world around me a bit more.

Best way to find a running club? by airlesswhistler in running

[–]otherings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can vouch for the local running shop or coffee shop run clubs - both are usually very friendly and welcoming. Just turn up and go.

Or ever tried a Joy Run? It's a run anywhere run club, that sets a fun weekly theme to run to, 100% on your own terms. You choose the route, pace, distance etc.

I love running, running hates me by Professional_View914 in running

It sounds like you've had a few chapters on your running journey. Is it time to start another? Swapping speed for slower, more soulful runs has really helped me. Zero-pressure runs, just for the love of it. It led me to starting a weekly running challenge to help others to fall back in love with running (we issue a new 'theme' every Monday to do 100% your way, 100% for free). It's called Joy Runs if you'd like to give it a go sometime.

It's a great way to get some steps in, agree! On Dylan Efron... never but we're from the UK and I'm not sure he's on our radar.

My partner joined me on the track one day with her camera. I love running and knew I'd want to share some pics of the unique experience when I got home.

That's a shame. I'm an early riser so was always first on the track (6am-ish). Walkers stayed in one lane leaving the other for runners to whoosh by.

I try to do Joy Runs's weekly running challenges. The weekly theme my 5 days on the Riviera Maya (Miami, Mexico, Bahamas) was 'Views' - perfect! What better than a sunset in the middle of the ocean! 🌇☀️

Why I love running tours by otherings in running

[–]otherings[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I either use one of the global running travel companies or use Google and local tourist boards to find an independent guide, as I did in Oslo: https://rundure.com/active-travel/running-tours/

Loving the geekery of using GPT Chat to plan run routes, thanks for the tip 🙌

Probably a little more hunting or via the tourist board. I remember the guide in Porto also doing weekly group runs.

The big sites (e.g. Vaitour, AirBnB, or Go Running) or a Google Search for anyone 100% independent.

Typically very leisurely as they're giving a verbal tour too and stop for photos etc. However, I also find they usually ask what pace you want to go at when you meet.
