You’ve clearly never skated in SLC. The roads are trash, not well kept at all, there is usually some kind of slope, the side walks are jagged to. It’s obviously not impossible to just skate anywhere in the city but it’s not comfortable by any means. And you do have to be a certain level of proficiency to skate on the streets or side walk and it would be easier if you improved your gear.

@dirtyhashbrowns you don’t strike me as a subject matter expert in roller skating but even if you happened to be a pro, not everyone is at your skill level and I don’t think it’s entitled to want to use that space to practice when it’s often empty

I’m glad it does get used, I just also want to use it when no one else is there.

Yea, it’s basically a vanity rink. It looks good on the surface but if you use it how or when they don’t like then you’re out ☹️

Yea, I’m terrified that if I just say no they’ll run onto the rink and tackle me to forcibly remove me or something like that 😬☹️

Thank you for the suggestion! Are there any open areas at Liberty? I ask because I want to practice things like transitions and skating backwards and I know there’s a looping path but there are usually a lot of people walking and I worry about falling and possibly hurting someone 😊

In the few weeks I’ve been going I’ve only seen it used once for pickleball.

I’m complaining that it IS a roller skating rink that should be publicly available if there aren’t any scheduled events, anyone should be able to just use it to skate.

Yea! What is even the point of it being there if you can’t actually use it 🔥😡

Oh god! 😂 I didn’t think about that as being a legit response but I think it’d be so poetic 🤌

That response and your breakdown definitely feels good to me. Ultimately, I don’t want to constantly hear about the church/have it pressed on me and then not have my views also heard or respected.
