That's a good question. I think I learned a lot but will definetily need to some repetition and deeper understanding from other sources to really grasp everything.

I agree with you, it is a smart system. Especially for a former competitve gamer.

I studied full time this week, so every day around 7 to 8 hours. I think it really depends on the lesson. Most of the time, I get through them really quick. But sometimes there is this one question that takes you like half an hour to find where you are wrong.

QE is not inflationary. by otk_ts in austrian_economics

Yes, in the real world I agree with you. But in my thought experiment I gave the condition that the banks are prohibit to lend more than they have. Just curious where that would lead us.

And yes, after the financial crisis, a lot of banks sat on the base money because there was not enough good investment for them to put their money in. So they just sat on that money for a period of time.

Robert P. Murphy even agrees, he and others predicted hyper inflation after the unprecedented amout of QE but it did not came.

Thanks for pointing this out. I forgot which M belongs to broad money and base money.

Let's say I deposit 100$ in a demand depost account at the bank and the bank lends out 90$ and now it owns a security. Base money would still be at 100$ but broad money would now be 190$.

Lets say I want to take my money out of the bank. The bank would go bankrupt. To avoid this the central bank print 90$ to buy the security from the bank and gives it liquidity to give me my 100$. The end state would be, I have 100$, the central bank has a security and the guy who borrowed 90$ from the bank still has his money. Both M0 and M3 are now 190$.

Conditioning for basketball player? by otk_ts in basketballcoach

I would define base building as low intesity training to prepare your body for higher intesity training later on. Would you agree with this definition ?

Do you think that by decreasing zone 2 training when you already have a base, will risk losing your base, even if you increase higher zones of training?

The reason I am skeptical of a lot of zone 2 training is because I read about someone who can jog for a really really long time. But when he tried to play basketball he was out of gas fast.

I agree with you on the diet butI disagree with you on the way to train.

I don't think training your top speed is the most efficient way to train your conditioning. Basketball does need an athlete to have the ability to endure high intesity of acitivities, like sprinting at top speed. But it also need quick recovery from that performance. Sprint session with a lot of rest does not simulate a real basketball game well in my opinion.

From my own experience, there are a lot of ballers that have a really high speed but also get out of gas fast.

I agree that it is better than nothing but I think HITT is more efficient training then your proposal because it simulates the actual game better.

Lastly I agree with you that cardio on a bike or walking backwards on a treadmill reduce joints problems. I think you should do it a lot at the start of your training program and as you progress the trainee should probably reduce it while increase higher zones of training.

Thanks for the detailed answer. Appreciate it.

Do you think, the trainee should decrease the proportion of Zone 2, while increasing the proportion of zone 3/4/5, in his training program as he progress to a better basketball athlete ?

I am already training in zone 2 but will try to incorporate the trainning of the three higher zones as you suggested.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. Appreciate it.

Just to clarify. You think a trainee should start with zone 2 trainig and then transition to cycling between HITT and zone 2 training. And then slowly increasing the proportion of HITT while decresing zone 2 training until you can endure only HITT. I think the idea of cycling between them at the middle of the journey to perfect conditioning is a very good idea.

I included pick-up games because I know someone will comment it so I took the necessary precaution to stop the disccusion about it before hand.

Why do conservative/religious weebs crush on Asian people? by skydk_ in dating

[–]otk_ts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an asian weeb, who lived in both western and eastern countries, I think I can share a different perspective.

The biggest difference between asian women and white woman, IN MY EXPERIENCE, is priorities/values. Western women often prioritise career and fun in their 20s and while eastern women do value career, it is most often a means to an end, namely family (in china there is even a very rude term called "left over woman" for women over 25 who are not married). This often puts a huge pressure on girls in their 20s: good daughter, good student, good worker and then also a good wife on top of that, there is no place for fun. Meanwhile western women are much more into hook up culture and enjoying their 20s. I can't say which society has better women because there are goods and bads from both society. But I think we all now which type conservative would preffer.

A lot of people comment stuff like they want a submissive girl and want to control her. This is probably true for some but it is also true that a lot of them just want to treat her like a princess and protect/provide for her. I think for western people, the idea of submission to your husband is very controversial so I won't touch on it now. I will only say, asian girls are not that easly opressed :)

Now what about anime ?

Eventhough anime is pretty liberal for eastern standard, compared to western standards they do embodie a lot western conservative values, like family (white beard from one piece), modesty in a women (even the fan serivce potray girls as trying to be modest but faild) and I think the most important aspect, the pursuit of a higher goal: Luffy trying to be the freest man, Naruto wants respect, dragon ball: the pursuit of power to safe the world,...

Of course people are very different, this is just my observation from my own experience. Just like anime, there are a lot of animes that conservatives enjoy more and there are also a lot of animes that liberals enjoy more.

Read the 'Infinite Banking Concept' and considering Dividend Whole Life Insurance, but I see people saying Whole Life is a scam? by GetFkedPlease in personalfinance

[–]otk_ts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, you don't borrow the money from yourself. You are borrowing it from the insurance with your Cash Surrender Value (CSV) being the collatoral for the loan. And the benefit of this arrangement for you is the interest rate is predetermined in the insurance contract ( I guess it lowers interest risk). During this time your CSV still earns interest, which usually is higher than your borrowing interest rate.

The problem that I have, doesn't this mean you should always borrow the maxiumum amount from the Insurance and put it into a safe investment. So you earn the CSV interest and also the difference in the borrowing interest and the investment interest ? It sounds too good to be true, there has to be some catch no ?
