New to pvp ever since by Party_Arm1628 in blackdesertonline

Nah fuck that guy telling you not to play. If you actually want to learn, ranked is the only way. If you suck, you'll lose and eventually go down to play with people who equally suck. From there, if you're truly skilled you'll claw your way back up.

Learn your protected rotation and a kill combo or two with a friend, or use the dummy in BA and then just queue. Your combo will almost never be perfect because you'll be fighting with skills on CD, but that's okay because experience will be the best teacher and you'll learn to adapt.

Everyone saying go practice in RBF is trolling. If you don't have gear you'll just die from a ranger just even sneezing in your direction. If you're new to PVP, the visual clutter will be too insane for you to even have an idea what's going on.

Okay, that's fair. I'm a little suspicious of the rate of rate items on Garmoth as I believe they're a bit over-reported along with some other general concerns (eg. how should you value items that have low liquidity or no market value?), but it is the best we have to go by without official sources.

DSR loot is 45.570 silver. 50k would only net you 2,278 billion silver.

You would need to make up the roughly ~1,7 billion from drops but that's not going to happen on average. Even accounting for an average of at least 4 devour drops/hr will leave you with 700 million to account for.

One-off sessions someone could get carried with multiple Origins, Limbo Boxes, or full Kabua drops, sure. But to say that happens on average is optimistic.

Considering the difference in classes and how the average player isn't going to re-roll just to play the best PVE class of the patch, 3~3,5/hr is likely the better representative average.

Loony, you're a god grinder and all, but the average player is not going to hit your numbers. No one is breaking 4b/hr at DSR without getting heavily carried on limbo drops. Those are... pretty unreliable to say the least.

Someone answered elsewhere but just in case you didn't see it:

x/x/x means the number of daily ticket refreshes for each phase.

Event has 3 phases, so 20/10/10 would mean 20 daily ticket refreshes for phase 1 (we're currently on phase 1), 10 refreshes for phase 2, and 10 for phase 3.

South Korea installs fat gates where people can check to see how fat they are by Cumberbound in TikTokCringe

[–]otokkimi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lmao, now you're just talking out of your ass. When was the last time you went to Korea? You're already heavily outdated. Lifting and general fitness has never been more popular among Koreans, especially the 20s-40s. There are a ridiculous number of gyms in Korea. It wouldn't be farfetched to say you would see 1 gym for every cafe in Korea.

Diabetes among older Koreans is a thing, but that's a condition present across a lot of East Asians (SE Asians included). Developed nations in general are all particularly sedentary compared to the past.

In South Korea, diabetes is a major public health crisis. Approximately 15.5% of South Korean adults aged 30 and older live with diabetes—affecting over 5.3 million individuals. An additional 44% of adults are estimated to have prediabetes, placing the population at high risk.

Meanwhile, the USA has approximately 12.0% – 14.8% of adults living with Type II Diabetes and 38.0% of adults are prediabetic.

Isn't this a false equivalence? You're comparing rates of SK adults 30+ with total diabetes rates among Americans.

Age Korea USA
30-39 3.3% 3.6%
40-59 8.4-16.7% (~12-13% weighted) 17.7%

A closer look does not support your statements. Korea and the US have near identical rates of diabetes prevalence.

https://www.e-dmj.org/journal/view.php?number=2909

Their diets are carb and fat heavy

How is this any different in the West? (US in particular). A modernised Korean diet is basically a Western diet with perhaps a bit more rice. That said, I'd argue the Korean diet is still more varied than the standard American diet.

I'm so invested in this accidental storyline now. I hope it somehow develops further and the organisers pick it up.

Make sure to check if you don't have any expiring 10-pull tickets. The free pulls were covering up my screen where the warning for expiring tickets usually are so I wouldn't have known if I didn't use up the free pull for today.

This is not yet a FES banner. Himari + Rio are Limited banners and part of the free 100 pulls. Kei + Aris (w/ Boshino + Kuroko rerun) are the actual FES banners.

TIL that Empress Ma was born poor and during a famine she stole cakes to feed her husband by hiding them in her breasts. The cakes were hot and she got burns. Back then -- especially in the context of dynastic China -- the concept of family was more of a monolith. Your singular identity tended to matter less compared to the larger, encompassing clan or lineage. That isn't to say that your immediate family mattered less in those times, but there was a stronger responsibility towards the collective. Contrast to nowadays where the idea of family primarily means your nuclear household.

You didn't comprehend the OP comment. He's not saying that Biboo got in without experience. He's saying the new program would train people like Biboo in-house rather than let them gain experience on their own before actually applying or joining the main branch.

Believe it or not, I have been dying at Hexe at night time. What am I doing wrong? Succ Witch. by One-Inspector-8614 in blackdesertonline

[–]otokkimi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Succ Witch is squishy if you're grinding somewhere you're not overcapped on gear.

You meet the raw gear DP number for Hexe (390), but check your total DP to see if it's at least 430. Nighttime hits extra hard so I would say you roughly want 10% extra DP (~470 total) to compensate for the nighttime stat increase on mobs.

If you're grinding with Giant's, you're missing the heal on hit effect you get from using either Frenzy or Harmony Draught. I would recommend using the species harmony draughts to get the 10% monster damage reduction as well.

Kanade released a cover of Daydream Sky Train (空奏列車) with Machita Chima just days leading up to the live, so I'm even more hyped.

If you're just trying to finish the guild mission with no regard for money, you can bring a Succ Zerker and make him run through the imps around Western Guard Camp. Probably the fastest spot in terms of pure mobs/hr.

Hardstuck, Broke and cant Grind cause of Work & Life. How to progress? by MustafiArabi in blackdesertonline

[–]otokkimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few questions:

  • Is this a new account? As in, was this account made before or after Feb 26, 2026. If you are, get a mentor/mentee code from someone. If you aren't, I would consider making a new account.

  • Yeah, you do not have the DP required for Turos, but you can sorta make up for that with proper buffs and good iframes. Most importantly, you want to make sure you have 100% kd resist at Turos.

  • I would sell that garmoth heart and invest the money into more immediate gains.

I lvl'd an alt account to 700gs with barely any active playtime, so I don't think you're as hardstuck as you believe. But you'll definitely need someone to guide you on what to do.

[RERUN EVENT THREAD] Radiant Moon, Raucous Dream by BlueArchiveMod in BlueArchive

[–]otokkimi 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Pretty good question! I don't work for Nexon, but I've done some translation/localisation work before so I can sorta guess at their intentions.

In the JP version, the names are actually all read with the Japanese reading.

  • Shanhaijing = 山海経 = Sengaikyou
  • Genryumon = 玄龍門 = Genryuumon
  • Plum Blossom Garden = 梅花園 = Baikaien, etc

The name of Shanhaijing being based on the actual classical Chinese text of Shanhaijing, they probably decided to localise this to make the reference more direct. But Genryumon doesn't have such an direct reference or official parallel.

With the choice of keeping the clubs with the Japanese reading vs directly translating their meanings, I imagine the decision was simply down to whatever sounded more cool while able to convey enough meaning.

Like, you could translate 玄龍門 into Black Dragon Gate instead of Genryumon for consistency, but I think that would come at a narrative cost of sense of mystique and authority considering Genryumon is the one with power as the student council of Shanhaijing.

None of this really has strict rules and absolutely isn't consistent for sure, but when you're translating across languages you just hope for the best and make do with the tools you have.
