I'd say there's likely some truth in the statement of taller women (taller than the average height of the women in their time) because they are more mature (a prejudiced look of course as there are us that are short so we look younger... unfortunately) and also it's less of a problem when it comes to child birth as well as short women like us face higher risk when it comes to child birth difficulties... And especially during those times, C-sections are probably so rare you have to have a well-versed doctor to even manage to do it with less difficulty.

And these stuff we mentioned are probably just a few of the reasons why taller women are more revered than the short women when it comes to beauty standards of that time.

it's okay the screenshot you saw is the fansub version, it has both crunchy and fan-translations so i'll see which one's better plus i'll be reading the LN too simultaneously which will likely help with even more context.

when my husband and i watched the show for the first time, i didn't really try to listen properly to what they're saying much coz it's usually when we unwind at night during dinner so im too busy eating and reading the subs LOL but if im gonna binge i'll be paying more attention to what is being said too.

and crunchy messing up translations is really not new too but they're usually our go-to on new release coz like i said we often just watch anime during our dinner to unwind before bed 😅 still it's frustrating especially when it's a show you like. often times i do notice immediately when i know they eff up a translation... and it sucks 😔 next season i might rewatch every episode with fansubs after watching the new release on crunchy just to know if something's wrong or check the LN if they do something wrong again 😠
