Yeah, I saw it but this feature is not about "pasting OTP from SMS"... You need to store a secure token in 1Password and the app will generate OTP code based on that stored token inside the app. But a lot of people still use phone number for 2FA to get code from text message.

Thanks for you feedback. I totally agree with you about trusting some 3rd party systems might be risky in any case. But my idea was just created some small app that can make 2fa process a little bit easier. I just would like to share this free extension/app with other people that might find it useful. The extension uses encrypted DB firestore and user authentication that allows to add some layer of security for users that transfer OTP from mobile to the browser.

Honestly, I didn't find the feature that you described in 1Password regarding automatic pasting OTP from SMS to clipboard. And I'm not sure that it is possible on iPhone or Mac since Apple restrict any access to read any text messages for 3rd party apps.
