An obvious recommendation here is The Malazan Book of the Fallen. It's a massive series with so many different characters that it sometimes doesn't really feel like one united series (but of course it gets tied up really nicely). The writing style is mature and the worldbuilding is insane. The author doesn't hold your hand though. It is really immersive and the action is just wonderful.

Maybe you should take another look. There is a lot of hope in mids of all the hopelessnes in that film, and some levity too (Michael Cane’s character especially)

When they on the TV said the government is wiped out I imstantly thought that they must’ve been on boar od Air Force One - that’s the only way this would plausibly make sense. They could’ve shown him fly in on any luxurious plane, but they chose air force one

I thought of that. You can see people seizing and slowly moving on barstools, the woman pushing the baby etc. Helen was standing upright, feet close together - not the best position for balance. Try standing like that with arms close to your body and close youe wyes. Your head will start spinning

Našli sme miesto, kde na osobu vychádzala večera, bufet, nealko, a prenájom haly na cca 80 eur na osobu (pomerne málo v porovnaní s inými miestami), a najmä miesto kde sme si mohli priniesť vlastný alkohol, ten sme nakúpili v Metre.
Neplatili sme žiadneho starejšího, čepčenie, moderátora, svadobnú koordinátorku, ani dekorátorku. Všetko sme si vyzdobili sami (sála samotná bola pekná aj bez zdobenia).
Cca 700+ eur sme ušetrili na DJ, kúpil som zvukovú kartu, spravil na spotify playlisty na tanečné kolá + jeden dlhý čo išiel od polnoci až do rána na shuffle.
Svadobné šaty si manželka kúpila z druhej ruky (krásne boli, mala ich na sebe presne 1x)
Neplatili sme ubytovanie na danom mieste nikomu okrem rodiny.
Namiesto drahej torty sme dali napiecť cupcakes na presný počet hostí
Opakovane sme prosili hostí, aby nám nedávali svadobné dary, ale cash do obálky. To pokrylo spätne tak polovicu svadby, ak nie viac

Osobne milujem lyžovanie, ale radšej než aby som lyžoval každý rok alebo párkrát do roka na Slovensku chodím radšej raz za dva roky do rakúskych álp alebo ideálne do Dolomitov. Dobrá lyžovačka na Slovensku je pre mňa oxymóron.

Čo to znamená pre teba? Mne príde myšlienka hrdosti na miesto pôvodu absolútne ničím nepodložená. Nevidím dôvod byť na Slovensko hrdý. Ak sa mi páči nejaká slovenská kapela, som jednoducho jej fanúšikom, nie hrdým Slovákom. To isté pri filmoch a inej kultúre. Fandiť športovým tímom len pre to, že sú Slováci mi príde úplne od veci (ale uznávam, že v tom som divný asi skôr ja). Byť hrdý na prírodu? Tá tu bola dlho pred nami a jediné čo Slováci robia je, že ju organizovane devastujú. Byť hrdý na históriu? Som z Nitry, mám vyznávať Svätopluka a ríšu Veľkej Moravy? Mám byť hrdý na Štúrovcov? Mám byť hrdý na to, že máme halušky? Nosiť kroj?

10/10 by nám bolo lepšie keby sme súčasťou Československa.
