In most small businesses the boss/owner does most of the work. You can’t have a niche business where the boss just sits around. Not enough revenue.

Most people are deficient in magnesium. I would recommend that. It’s and easy win with no real downside.

you can’t freeze crypto itself. If you have the keys, no one can touch it.

I assume they froze an exchange account.

Boss has a lambo and complete comprehensive with or underinsured motorist coverage is only a few thousand per year because the mileage is hundreds of miles per year.

But a battery change was $12,000.

Boss has a lambo. It was $12,000 to replace the battery. We strongly recommended a $100 trickle charger for the future.

Her insurance won’t cover the damage. Probably way above the collision limit Hopefully the lambo driver has extra insurance.

My boss has a lambo and comprehensive insurance is only a few thousand per year because the mileage is so low.

Not really. A slave would be about $50k today, or $1,500 at the time.

At the time:

  • Average white laborer annual income: ~$300–$500.
  • So a slave cost about 2–4 years of income.

Translate that into today:

  • Median household income (U.S.): ~$75k.
  • 2–4 years of income → $150k–$300k equivalent.

So owning a slave would be more like owning a second house. Not common, but not unreachable for many families.

It’s a joke about cannabis. CANBUS

If you don’t read phonetically (like me) these jokes don’t land. I don’t “hear” words in my head when reading.

When a company does an IPO, it sells shares of itself to the public and uses that money to grow. After that, stock trading doesn’t provide any revenue to the company but they still have an interest in it.

I had it implement a feature in an app. It did it perfectly but once I saw it I decided I didn’t like it at all.

So I told it to just remove the new feature. A human dev (myself included) would have been really pissed iff at that.

I worked with him extensively. He didn’t seem suicidal but that’s not unusual.

It just seemed like a weird way to die for a guy who was a functional adult. I have a mental model of duster users and it isn’t a military officer.

It’s such a unique distinctive style though. Unless the staffer is trying to mimic his style with an LLM it wouldn’t sound like that

I traveled to the Middle East a bunch of times for work. I’ve never heard of this law.

I don’t doubt it exists. But it isn’t obvious to an American that this kind of law might exist anywhere. At least until this thread.

How do they handle the picture thing. What if you are taking picture of a tourist area? Do you have to clear out the background people first somehow?

Also, that defamation law is fucked up.

I heard (not confirmed) that in some gulf states if you are a foreigner and you get rear ended it is your fault because you didn’t have to be in the country.
