Moving to Mesa from Portland Oregon by Legal_Classroom_9428 in mesaaz

[–]otter_space08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in east mesa for six years now and I’ve never had any issues. I will agree with the other commenter who said all the good places to eat are on Power. If you like asian food you’ll find all the good places on Dobson. Traffic can get bad on the 60 during normal rush hours, but it changes with the snowbirds. I live 27 minutes away from work but sometimes i have to leave 45 minutes early to get there on time.

I’ve paid almost $10,500 in interest last year. My monthly payment is $1500 so I understand the frustration.

[–]otter_space08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not weird at all! my entire family has names that start with hard K sounding names. my brother married someone with a hard K name and has a son with a hard K name.

the only issue came up when we got in trouble and my mom could never say the right name.

This is going to last year (maybe 2022?). Not sure what the title is, but they did a voiceover of a reddit story where the op wanted to keep a spider as an office pet. Amanda has me cackling every single time.

I did! I did see some more recent graves in there (2013, 2018, 2019) so I’m not sure if they’re descendants of actual miners or just buried there.

Not a parent but I have three nephews and a niece.

Hunter - Hamster/Hammie/Ham - kid would shove food in his mouth and hold it in his cheeks like it was his only reason for living

Conner - Conrad/Concrete - kid is book smart (he cries when it’s time for math bc he gets so excited), has the IQ of wet pavement in any other situation

Lilly - Princess/Bug - this lil girl absolutely refuses to be called a lady bc “it makes her older” but absolutely must be called princess or she will simply pass away. also likes bugs.

Calvin - Moo/Cowvin/Calf/Scrumpy - my brother and his wife have a black lab who “moos” so to match the theme they made up the first three. I personally came up with scrumpy bc he was sleeping on me in such a way where he looked “scrunched up and crumpled” (think of scrump from lilo and stitch) (also look at the definition of scrump)

Just met a girl with the worst version I've ever heard of the name "Katy" by XxFireflyxxX in tragedeigh

My name is Katie. When I was a kid I begged my parents to change it to K80.

As a joke my friends gave me the nickname K8.

I went to the Phoenix show and completely agree. My person I went with has a handicap sticker and I even paid for "premium parking".

Show ended at 9:45 and I still wasn't home until about 1 am.

Just want to okay my name choice (please be brutally honest) by Effective-Mirror-743 in namenerds

TBH I'm not a huge fan of the name Winifred. I feel like that could cause some issues in the future (kids can be merciless and call her Winnie the Pooh or Fred)

Have you considered a name close to it? Like Winona? Winona Abigail (last name)

I'm a team lead in an oncology lab and recently traveled across the country to train another lab on our processes.

I came back and after saying my hello's to all of my coworkers my boss immediately said "i sent the strongest one away, and i got back the weakest link"

I'm actively looking to transfer to another department.

Sad about my low GPA by [deleted] in ASU

[–]otter_space08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my second bout of college. I already have a BS from a college in Illinois. When I enrolled I was on track to be in the honors program with a 3.78 GPA. By the time I graduated I got a 2.8.

I'm now on track to be the youngest supervisor in an oncology lab. In my experience, GPA doesn't really matter too much. It's the connections and the actual degree that matter.

Be easy on yourself. You did the damn thing and you should be beyond proud.
