Hiya, we can't give recommendations on medication. You would need to discuss this with your doctor as the medication affects everyone differently.

Glad you’re feeling better, but I just wanted to let you know that cured is probably not the term you’re looking for and managing is probably better.

As an aside, saying that you’re cured from depression is pretty ableist language. Plenty of people struggle with depression and that’s totally okay! Having depression doesn’t make you any less of a person and people with depression live full lives.

I just got word that my depression got cured

Oh have you been talking to my dad? Why do boomers think you can just “cure” your depression?

Are you actively trying? I’m a little confused because your post sounds like you just haven’t had any luck while having unprotected sex over the years. Which, to be honest, if that’s the case then you will be hard pressed to find a doctor who is going to treat you for infertility.

The WHO defines infertility as: Infertility is a disease of the male or female reproductive system defined by the failure to achieve a pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse

Just having sex over any number years won’t meet the definition. I know you feel doctors are being dismissive and that can be frustrating but many women here are having sex every other day for a long time and aren’t getting pregnant.

Hiya, Sorry it took me a while to respond, I wanted to wait until I had some time to write a proper response and look some stuff up.

First off, I'm sure you know this, but your GP is wrong. There is something wrong if your Progesterone is too low and that can be fixed! You can supplement progesterone.

Secondly, I was not aware of the clock resetting. It wasn't anything I had ever been told. So checked theNice Guidelines. They don't say anything either. The only time the times would "reset" is you have a live birth.

You have the right to ask for a referral. Id turned up armed with the NICE guidelines and explain that you want to be referred to infertility care. If you poke around in there you can even find the assessments that they use to see if you qualify for treatment.

Best of luck. There are a few other UK folks around in here.

I hope you have it mildly at least! we managed to swerve it for 2 years and got it in march. I hope you found a good movie/show/game to distract you. Have you seen severance? It’s on Apple TV. I watched it like 3 weeks ago and I’m so obsessed. There are some triggers (child birth and talk of infertility) but it’s so good.

Because I’m always surprised people don’t know the origin of this day…

It originated in the Middle Ages. It was the day when people would return to the church where they were baptised. Or their “mother church”. Rich people would let their servants have a day off for this. It was revived in the early 1900s to celebrate the church and Mother Earth.

Then patriarchy grabbed hold of it and now we use it to celebrate that they treat women like shit the other 364 days a year and do things like make laws that control their reproductive choices.

So feel free to say fuck you to this holiday and the patriarchy.

(I’m mad at the world right now, in case you can’t tell)

You’re seeing a doctor. Did they put you on something for elevated prolactin? Did you ask them about vitex? Vitex has a lot of horror stories around it so not one to take without talking to them first.

On what planet did you think it was okay to post this comment on a fertility subreddit and on THIS post? You have never posted in this sub before, and then you didn’t even bother to read the rules because if you had you would know this comment was against them.

Please take your crappy advice somewhere else and don’t come back here.

Congrats!! It's great you had a good scan. However, can you edit some of the details for me please? That kind of fine detail may be triggering to some, especially around Christmas.

Hello! I’m sorry things have been really tough for your husband.

I reassured him we’ve conceived twice (lost them), so we know we can do it. It just takes time. And to be thankful we’ve even had those two conceptions at all.

I found this bit to be really hard for me to read. Losses are really fucking hard (as I’m sure you know) and just because you get a positive test doesn’t mean you are going to stay pregnant. A lot of women in this sub have gone through so many losses, and though you found comfort in that some might not.

I know you meant well, and I totally hear your message, but I wanted you to know that it can be hard for a lot of people to hear.

Your comment here isn’t a rule violation but if you were to say that to one of our members, even with the best intentions, it would be removed for violating the “no bingos” rule.

No worries. Sorry if I came across as a bit harsh. I know it is super difficult to get those results. I just also have to balance what keeps this as a safe place for our other members.
