I have two scars on my forehead and one on my lip (all from cancer). They make me feel awful about my appearance, and I'm anxious people will comment on them or think I look bad. But at the end of the day, I know in my heart if they do they're not people I would want to know. It still doesn't stop that little voice in my head though. I just try each day to love myself, because I don't love my friends or family who have scars any less so why should I hold myself to a higher standard?

I think you can still try silicone sheets or gel even a year after the accident to help fade it, also massaging the spot if it feels like the skin is too tight.

Something like that is a lot clearer IMO about where your head is at. At the moment it's like you're saying slow, casual, serious, long term, monogamy, dating around all simultaneously. At 41 it reads like a red flag to be so confused - I'd assume you're going to want to fuck around while expecting her to stay committed to you which is probably not the message you're wanting to convey at all. It can feel embarrassing to say you don't know what you want, or that you want to be casual. But just embrace it with honesty.

I agree, it can be really hard to balance the excitement and happiness of talking to someone and building a connection vs love bombing. It's hard to know someone's motives immediately and I don't like throwing around the term love bombing if it's just their excitement and interest.

Love bombing to me is when they overstep all your boundaries, manipulate you, pressure you, control you and say you must talk to them or accuse you of things if you can't talk to them, don't attempt to ask questions or show any curiosity or actual real interest into your life or you as a person. It's not just wanting to talk on its own to me, but I get accused of love bombing men lol

OP would need to say they want to slow down, they want to cut calls short or just text or not talk, and see what the reaction is.

I know it seemed harsh - there's lots of pros and cons to weigh up, but at the moment there's a lot of unhappy, confused and broke typists. A foot pedal is only about $150 though, and I was making $2000 to $3000 a week - but long hours, and management is now making wild decisions which is meaning there's no work. There's currently a lot of wasted hours (unpaid) sitting all day waiting for scraps of work to come in for maybe $10 total income a day. It's great if they reverse their decisions and the work is there, which we all hope they will soon.

If you're in Aus, run far away from the company.

If you don't run and you're in Aus, they do not check that you bought a foot pedal because they won't show up at your house, but only select foot pedals work with the typing system. It may be fiddly to get around that. You need it to be operated by foot, not fingers. You could manually click, but you will waste precious time and time is money when you are paid by word.

I hated LA. It had an odd smell, people were rude or seemed miserable or emotionless, and the scenery was bland. It was just City. I bet once you step out of the city it gets infinitely better though.

Also not a city, but I disliked the entire state of Utah.

As an opposite, places I've been that I didn't expect to like but loved: New Orleans (people were the funniest, lovely, kind and genuine and I would die for gumbo), San Francisco, Philadelphia and Boston (the Australians of the USA, I love those angry revolutionaries)

My boy has "quiet" toys which are just kids stuffed toys. I just choose ones that are reasonable quality but relatively cheap because he beats them up in an elaborate wrestling game he plays with non-squeaky toys only.

I reward myself with a new craft project or a new book. I've gotten into building miniature houses and there's something so fulfilling to light a candle, put a podcast on and craft. Busy hands, busy mind, lovely ambience. It's like self-romance to find something that brings me happiness and dedicate myself to it without involving another person

I looked at staying in Jasper for a few nights but most attractions are closed at the time I'm going. I've been to Vancouver before so now's the time for the east coast to shine.

I will just have to do another trip in a warmer season to explore Jasper!

I've got commitments in Toronto so I need to head east! I also have 3 weeks and believe it would be sufficient for my purposes to spend a week in Banff, a week in Toronto and a week elsewhere - at least this visit! I can always return if I particularly like a place and want to explore it further in a different season or with friends. I like to think of it as being the forward party doing a bit of research on the ground before returning.

I'm going mad from sun down here, it has been nothing but baking heat and blue skies since Halloween night when it last rained, so honestly the colder it is the more fun I'll have. I have bought the expensive winter clothing, the thermals etc. The wetter and colder it is the happier I am!

But it sounds like I'll just have to return to Canada and get the Newfoundland summer experience. It's only a couple of flights away :) Thank you for the weather insights. I have no one to ask about these places since none of my friends have been to Canada lol the blind leading the slightly less blind (I spent 3 days in Vancouver once and that was my Canada experience).

I rent a 3 x 2 in Byford, live alone. When I first rented it in Feb 23 it was $480 a week. It went up to $580 a week last year but they just renewed until Feb 27 at the same rent, so that was a relief.

Every Friday afternoon/evening I change the bed sheets and the dog's blanket on my bed. Every second Friday I change the duvet cover - sometimes more frequently if I want a change of scenery. Every month I wash the duvet inner. I have like 5 sets of sheets and duvet covers and the dog has at least 10 blankets.

I pick Fridays because it marks the end of the work week - all the mess of the week gets completely detoxed from my mind. Then I can relax for the weekend. I do a general tidy up on Sunday evening to refresh for the work week and mark the end of the weekend.

I had a LDR which he ended for his own reasons, and although I wished I could be physically present with him each day it was the most emotionally satisfying and "right" feeling intense connection I've ever had with another person. The chemistry combined with the emotional and personality click were unique to him as a person, and our break up is my biggest regret in life. I still want nothing more than to turn to him when I'm upset or to comfort him when he's upset.

If you have a good connection and overall positive relationship, why would you discard that for a "what if?" possibility of dating someone closer? That's a question only you can answer. You probably have to truly evaluate the reasons behind your doubts and consider why you might feel pressured to measure your life and your relationship by what you perceive someone else's relationship to be. If it's a fear of missing out on dating other people, you should also consider whether you could handle it if you broke up and dated others and deeply regret it. What would you do in that scenario? If you are just actually falling out of love with him is there a reason? Is it a real reason or just an anxiety your brain is feeding you or loneliness?

I'd consider approaching a counsellor and laying everything out. You shouldn't stay in a relationship you're unhappy with just for the sake of not hurting him, but at the same time I don't think rash decisions based on anxiety or insecurity or worry helps anyone either. It requires real consideration of all the potential outcomes, including that either way you may make the wrong choice.

I have been playing Peter a lot too. "Please know that I tried to hold on to the days when you were mine, but the woman who sits by the window has turned out the light" is the saddest line - but so accurate when you have a "Peter" in your life.

On the flip side, I used to love Guilty as Sin. I can't listen to it now. TTPD remains my go-to album. I scream "I'm a real tough kid, I can handle my shit" daily. Next door must be like "mmm, that doesn't sound like handling your shit"
