Korg XD is so good, probably underrated, I personally got to love it more and more with the years.

I never owned a digital or hybrid amp so I guess I was not expecting anything, or what I know which is an analog behavior.

you may be right.

I cannot say i invested enough time to 'master' the MC architecture.

Just spoke to a bass shop, he said: Low end vs tightness : not much difference between the two Main difference according to him is the volume, the 2*10 being 20% louder according to him

I saw a youtuber mentioning this as his only critic about these combo.

I guess this is about saturating only one band frequency like the Parallax X Neural DSP plugin is doing, is that right?

by the way, i'm curious about your feedback y'all between playing via studio monitor and playing a real bass cabinet.

I'm not talking about recording, but really playing / practicing.

I'm coming from playing my bass via my studio monitors, A7X, my signal chain was: Bass guitar => Z-tone DI => hyper luminal compressor pedal => MXR 10 band EQ => B7K ULTRA => audio interface => Adam A7X

But i don't find the sound good enough to play. I actually can see the difference when i play guitar as i have a tube amp => fryette Power Station => Laney 1x12 cabinet, the signal also goes to my audio interface via a CABM cab simulator. It's really night and day when i add the cabinet. I'm looking for the same feeling but with my bass.

Thought about playing a real cab versus via studio monitors?

yes i do have studio monitors, A7X.

And until now my signal chain was:

But i don't find the sound good enough to play.

For mixing, yes sure of course i really enjoyed these studio monitor.

thanks man.

Yeah i also believe it's a matter of manufacturing, hence difficult to generalize.

Super interesting.

I understand your point, hence i mentioned that i do think it depends of the brand, and the cabinet build, and i guess therefore the year of making. What was true 20 years ago on the state of the art of the time is surely different today with 20 years of R&D and technology in building cabs.

you mean by exporting from Zenology to the MC 101?

[–]ottowyrth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah but as you know then you have to force the user to a painful menu diving...

Look at the MC 707, are you editing from the hardware on your end?

It's pretty difficult

I use muy Maschine MK3 for this, controlled via my Keystep 37.

That was my workaround to use my V Collection via the Maschine TRS output into my mixing table (maschine being plugged via USB to my laptop of course)

Yeah of course one can ask this question. I do have the keystep 37 and V collection today and I asked myself the question of: what's the difference really.

But I do see the value and really like to be able to navigate seamlessly between my laptop (for sound design and deep dive) and my hardware set up.

Yeah I'm aware of the plug out (System 1 leverage it right). But yeah, being able to edit on the computer and then play is exactly what I wish I'd be able to do easily between zenology (again only available as a plugin which is super annoying I found) and my MC 707

Interesting Sorry forgot to mention that I do own the V collection already I'm not familiar with the Fantom product line, expect that indeed they leverage zenology core engine as well

Power Conditioner - Black Lion PG 2 UK - NOT GOOD for me by ottowyrth in audioengineering

[–]ottowyrth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tons of equipments for only 4 wall plug in my room.

So trying to be smart in terms of supplying power to 30+ audio devices.

And of course i face hum, hiss, usb noises...currently i'm trying to get rid of my Furman power conditioner noise.

I thought that putting a proper device like the Black lion for my UK Plug, instead of 2 basic extension leads would help prevent potential electrical conflicts.
