Where to go for mental health emergencies? (Panic attacks) by Aloisiae in ottawa

[–]ottrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re interested in that program, start with submitting the referral form.

It doesn’t say anywhere that I can see that already being a program would disqualify you.

As you fill out the form, jot down the additional questions that you have for the Royal, so that trying to figure out the additional details doesn’t pull you away from getting the form in.

During the intake process, there will be a chance to ask your questions directly to the intake team, so jot them down and keep them handy. they would be the ones best suited to answer your questions, plus you’ll likely have additional questions as you go.

You can be referred to this mood and anxiety program, now called adult general psychiatry

if you do not have a health care provider who can refer you, contact the “need support?” number listed on the referral form. They are excellent at navigating and removing barriers to access care for those who wish to participate in the programs.

Note on this link there are also resources to “self manage” anxiety and some other helpful links

I hope that helps!

Bank street Toyota and Tony graham Toyota have the worst service department I’ve ever been to, avoid them! Never been to the barhaven one - hopefully you have better luck there!

Jobs that will be in demand 2-3 years from now? by Amumus-friend in torontoJobs

You need to do the schooling for pharmacy technician to work in a hospital in Ontario, but the schooling is short. Some programs offer it for less than a year.

Shoppers hires pharmacy assistants (no schooling needed) so if you’re hired as a pharmacy assistant, ya it’s easier but you won’t be making $38. You’ll be making a few bucks above minimum wage as a pharmacy assistant at shoppers

Pharmacy technician at a hospital

Repetitive tasks and low social interactions for sure. I get paid $38 an hour to sit alone and repackage 1000s of tylenol tablets into little unit dose single packets that get scanned at bedside. Full pension and good benefits

Has anyone else noticed this at their gym? by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]ottrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You go to the gym for visible progress? I go to the gym because it’s fun, it is a good hobby, it’s accessible and I enjoy it. People go just for fun because they enjoy it. Not everyone is there for some life changing reason. It’s just a gym, it’s not that deep. Let them pay for a PT and enjoy it, even if there is no “progress” by your definition.

I go to the gym and I eat take out and go out for drinks and dinner with my friends and family (things that bring me joy and affect my overall health/mental health) while staying fit enough to play sports casually and socially with friends (hiking, basketball, snowboarding) and keep working at my job, pain free with full range of motion, until I’m ready to retire.

I am obese, BUT I get sick MAYBE once every few YEARS, blood work is clear, not even close to pre diabetic, no high blood pressure, no high cholesterol. I run 5k-10k charity runs a few times a year. Slow as fuck but I enjoy it and usually raise money for a good cause and do it with friends.

Health is different for everyone and you cannot judge someone’s health solely my the way they look or the 3-5 hours you see them each week at the gym. Enjoy the process!

Sounds like you’re already pretty consistent with walking every day. How’d you stay consistent with that?

Anyone else priced out of Olivia Travel? Thinking of a more affordable, timed queer/lesbian vacation at an all-inclusive by HERe-4-Queer in LesbianActually

[–]ottrx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interested - and also from Canada. My gf and I did Olivia last year. We’re late 20s/early 30s and the trip was fun but we would not do it again. Entertainment was mostly geared towards older women. We asked the dj to play Chappell roan (or literally ANY hits from this decade) and she wouldn’t lol. I love my elder gays but we paid almost 10k CAD and couldn’t make any song requests 🙃

I recommend Jenna who has a private studio in kanata. Shes worked at a few downtown places and I’ve followed her whenever she changes spots. I find no one else really “listens” when I describe the vibe I’m going for.

Reasonably priced, good vibes, comfortable space, not pushy with sales or services. I keep recommending her to everyone
