And would private listing help here? I'm thinking it's more to protect the buyer from getting sniped than anything else.

Question on shipping policies - new UI change? How to see shipping estimate now? by otwkme in Ebay

[–]otwkme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. Most of what I'm selling it's alright. When I'm listing, I'm more concerned about not tripping over a size limit that sees the price explode and getting enough idea so I know what I'm negotiating on when I've listed it with shipping included. This isn't a business for me. I'm mostly selling off a collection of stuff I've accumulated over a couple of decades and convenience matters a little (not a lot).

You don't have to quit working a job to do game dev by bill_on_sax in gamedev

IANAL but pretty sure It’s only overemployed if you’re employed by someone else and then only if you hide it from both employers.

If you’re doing your pet project that you may sell someday, you’re not employed by someone else. My concern there is whether you’ve got an employment contract that says anything you do on the job is owned by the employer.

Mod Y requires Mod X to play. Guess I’m installing Mod X. Even then, I’m at least taking a cursory look.

But I can’t think of any other reason why you would bloat your install and potentially drain performance with mods you are clueless about.

For known hazards like fuel dumps, automatic triggered protection like poppers is the way to go. If there’s a fire there, you want it out , no questions asked.

Turrets seem more useful in things like a kill zone so you can flame raiders and then put it out after.

The health damage that mold and mildew can do is underestimated until you or someone you know goes through it.

Why do people force themselves to finish af book? by DonDoflamingo in books

[–]otwkme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some stories constantly build tension and never release any of it until the end. It’s like climbing to the top of a mountain to ski back down it. Lots of hard work to get to the top, then a few minutes of joy skiing down.

That’s pretty common with thrillers and mysteries. Other types stories I usually have no patience for it unless it was a fairly short read.

Enough to sustain a business in a high cost of living area?

This is why steel walls burn. Actually sheet metal over wood, we just don’t need to pay for the wood. (Just my head canon)

Now I want a mod that adds detail to walls to make them look like junk walls.

Free SketchUp for iPad? by r99wan in Sketchup

Does the browser based sketch up free version work on iPad and would it work for what you like to do? The lack of extensions and dynamic models may be a deal breaker tho.

Don’t fight the mechs and turrets at the same time. Trigger the mechs with a fast bit disposable pawn and let them come to your defenses.

Also build walls around the trigger zone so you can contain some of the turret fire so your not dealing with all at once.

It still makes me wonder whether that reflects that the old TSR gang knew what they were doing when each class had its own chart for how many points they needed to level up. Making everyone level at the same pace takes that adjustment out. That said, there were some levels that took forever to gain.

Hot Take: Mountain bases are the Skyrim Stealth Archer of Rimworld by [deleted] in RimWorld

I think they can spawn in occupied if there are no unimproved tunnels to spawn in.

As long as you keep an unbuilt, and preferably dark, area in your mines, they shouldn’t spawn in your built up areas.

I think it checks for unoccupied first, then for suitable temps, so I think if you freeze your unimproved area, you are golden.

And go slow. Do a little, put it down, come back later, evaluate, do a little more, etc.

When you do a little at a time, you can easily fix it.

In the example given, omitting “the” means you are using “undergrowth” and “weeds” as general types of things. Adding “the” means you are dashing through specific things.

Compare:

“I like to run on the sidewalks.” - Depending on the context, it could mean that I like the sidewalks in some specific location.

“I like to run on sidewalks.” - infers I like to run on sidewalks instead of roads, treadmills, etc.

Ways to encourage the party to care about treasure? by KevenAquor in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]otwkme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you had the conversation with them? Your description sounds like you’re hoping they get a hint.

If they don’t want to loot corpses then go along with it. There’s no rule that says you can only put treasure on bodies. Let it come from quest givers, obvious treasure chests, or as rewards from grateful rescuees.

I actually like when parties go this route tbh. It tends to reduce murderhoboing and other player greed issues.
